Bye week
We desperately needed our bye week around this time of the season and having it the second week of the season I think has really hurt us

RE: Bye week
I kinda' figured this might be an issue. The lines (and the team as a whole) look tired and worn down. As fast as the offense tries to play and then failing to get first downs just puts an already tired defense back on the field, where they have been skull-dragged the last two weeks.

RE: Bye week
Southern Heritage Classic requires, of course, either an away game or an off week. But the American is hardly afraid to schedule conference games in September. They're the ones that dole out the off weeks, as we arrange for the dates of our OOC games.

I we will have a more typical off week next season. Just how it goes.

When I first saw our schedule with our bye week coming after our first game, I thought who in the hell put this schedule together (conference). Like you said, we need it now. This team needs time to heal the bumps, bruises and minor injuries, get away from the coaches (and each other) and just get away from football for a few days, come back refreshed and ready to go and take on the second half of our schedule. No team in college football needs a bye week after the first game.

This is just another reason we need our own OCS. Let the SHC and the LB worry about their own needs, while the University takes care of itself. D@mn everyone else.
