That's the drawback with the skinny bundles. Sling separates ESPN+ESPN2 into one package, Fox/FS-1 into the other, and tosses CBSSN into the Sports Extra (IIRC). To get them all would cost $45/month.
It's certainly a better deal for ACC and SEC fans, since they can get all of their games on the ESPN package with the sports extra for $25. This includes NCAAT games on TBS and TNT.
The B1G, B12 and P12 are or will now be split between FOX and ESPN, so you would need the $45 package, which still doesn't get you BTN.
Yes, BTN is included in the Sling "Sports Extra" pkg.
Not on the ESPN Sports package (Orange), it must be on the FOX based package (Blue)
I went back to check and doggone it, you're absolutely correct! The sports extra package has the SEC Network and Pac-12 Network, but NOT the Big Ten Network. My bad.
(Hey, at least I gave you another opportunity to write "Orange")

How so? It's basically just a poll. No different than the political polls people take now. Nielsen does a lot of work to try and ensure the people participating are a representative sample of the US population.

I left TWC for VUE to save about $50/mo and CBSSN and STO (station Indians games get aired on) are the only stations that I miss.

Like Arbitron (Radio) Nielsen (TV) info can be very off. There was a fan on here who posted numbers showing that only 10% of the populations of Nevada and New Mexico had cable tv. I sold advertising at Univision in Las Vegas, Albuquerque and Houston and can tell you: that's absolutely ridiculous. They tend to under represent the Hispanic population.--incredibly off on a segment of people that make up nearly 20% of the US population. That's one example of how they are not an accurate representation of the US population.
Cheers!

I'm surprised the cable and satellite companies don't track what you watch and record those numbers. Or do they not (and would that be an invasion of privacy?)?
I'm surprised though because there's no better way to track what people watch than actually recording what they're watching as they watch it.
Meanwhile, Neilsen just surveys a few people and is likely skewed for what entertainment execs want to be popular.

Here is an article from the Wall Street Journal regarding a feud between ESPN and Neilsen in how they track numbers and the 621,000 subscribers lost last month.
http://www.wsj.com/articles/nielsen-and-...1478297498
From the article, "ESPN isn’t backing down. On Friday, it called the data a “historic anomaly for the industry and inconsistent with much more moderated trends observed by other respected third party analysts.” The network noted that the number doesn’t measure new streaming TV operators like Dish Network Corp.’s Sling TV and Sony Corp.’s PlayStation Vue, which carry ESPN. “We hope to work with Nielsen to capture this growing market in future reports.”
Here is another article from Fierce Cable (grain of salt) on 8/17/16.
http://www.fiercecable.com/cable/sling-v...asurements
“The most widely used tracking device [are] Nielsen’s estimates of cable network subscribers, which is not actually a true count of paid subscribers. It’s an estimate.” said MoffettNathanson analyst Craig Moffett. “And the statistics don’t include new OTT distributors like Sling and Sony Vue, which at this point, may represent over 800,000 subscribers…”
"The analyst found that Nielsen’s measurement of second-quarter subscriber attrition for Discovery Networks was off by as much as 80 basis points."
Ok, so perhaps it is just me but 800,000? That is all? I would have guesses over 1 million and considered that very conservative. I suppose this new delivery system is still in its infancy. With Sling, Vue and many others coming along this could represent the cord cutting bubble many have suggested. I'm not ready to call the bubble popped just yet. There most certainly are people getting rid of cable and not going to anything else but I feel like many are transferring to the new system and so it isn't loss it is being made out to be.

That wouldn't be surprising, Fox owns 49% of the BTN.

Yeah might think but after I wrote my post replying to HokieMark...I found no evidence you can receive the BTN on Sling. Sling is an awesome value for ACC, SEC, PAC and and lesser so for the AAC, B1G and Big 12 fans.

Vue's "Core" package does include BTN, but at a cost of $35 per month. The "Access" level ($30/month) does not. Both include ESPN, ESPN2, FS1, FS2, and TNT. Core adds beIn, BTN, ESPNews, ESPNU, FoxSports, Golf, NFLN, SECN, and some non-sports channels.
Also worth noting that, while Vue costs a little more than Sling, it allows more simultaneous streams (important if you don't live alone) and more channels. I'm thinking of upgrading - but I don't want to get back to the huge bill we used to pay with cable.
