FYI early signing period starts this Wednesday, 11/09: http://www.nationalletter.org/signingDates/

I haven't heard of any prospective signings, other than the previously mentioned Bo Hodges.

Penny paying dividends. There's a golden era of athletes in the mid state right now, I hope ETSU can capitalize.

They are:

6’3” Terry Nolan, SG from Essex MD http://mocnation.yuku.com/topic/2459?page=1
6’3” Jalen Crutcher, PG from Memphis Ridgeway http://mocnation.yuku.com/topic/2522/Moc...n-Crutcher
6’7” Joan Duran from Eastern Florida CC http://mocnation.yuku.com/topic/2549?page=1
6’7” 230 DeMarcus Mitchell, Germantown HS, Memphis http://mocnation.yuku.com/topic/2766/Moc...s-Mitchell

It remains a joy to read new recruits' reasoning for choosing ETSU. Welcome, officially, Bo Hodges!

This kid seems to move well for his size. Doesn't seem to be heavily recruited at this point. Anybody know if ETSU has given him a look? http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/gabe-bryant

Since those are his *sophomore* highlights, he'll likely be a 3* kid by sometime this season. Yeah, pretty decent skill set. Reminds me a bit of a Brad Nuckles but who plays inside with his back to the basket.

RE: Recruits for 2017-2018
I saw Brad Nuckles in high school. He was a very solid fundamental player. But this kid, especially considering that he's a sophomore, seems to me to move better and jump better than Nuckles did as a high schooler.

Gane Bryant is a rim rocker and seems to have great instincts for a young big! I like his junior dream shake and desire to use footwork. At 6'9 235 (or slightly under?), he has the right frame to become an explosive bruiser with some DI conditioning. He'll probably make a great 5 for the right program, maybe ETSU--who knows. Call him the poorman's Dream!

Let's get him locked up. We are going to need to get some front court presance with all the guys being gone after this season.

Would absolutely take Bryant if he were available to us. On the highlight video under schools recruiting him list I did not see ETSU. Are we recruiting him now? Or is this a prospect we are hoping to get in on?

Verbalcommits indicates that we've offered JUCO big man Jonathan Nwankwo out of College of Southern Idaho. He redshirted his freshman year at VCU before tansferring to CSI this season. This kid definitely looks the part and was highly rated as a prep player.

He averages 10 & 8 on the 11th ranked Southern Idaho team: http://njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/2016-17/div...wankwo0373

Difficult to tell a whole lot on that video, with those little-comp opponents - except that he sure does like to hang on the rim.

Player of the week, Nwankwo:

http://athletics.csi.edu/news/2016/12/5/...onors.aspx

I bet Chattanooga will try to swoop in, with the obvious Wade advantage. We all know the last 6'10 VCU transfer became king of the SoCon. But Nwanko would be greatly appreciated at the 5 on ETSU's currently thin roster next season.

I hope we are going after Nwanko aggressively. We desperately need some size next year.

RE: Recruits for 2017-2018
Here's a teaser clip to show some touch around the basket. I want this guy in blue and gold.

Listing him at 6'9 245, here was VCU's player summary:

Recruit by Rivals
19th Best C in Nation, 6th in State of NY
Athleticism, Defensive Rebounding, Help-Side Defense
High Motor
Excellent Rebounder

Redshirt year at VCU. Played one year at Southern Idaho. That should leave him 3 years of eligibility. Correct?

Chatt has no "obvious Wade advantage".
