I've tried researching any offers Edwards may have had out of high school or junior college, & Nada! I've only been able to find a written analysis stating he has a D1 frame, slightly slow, and was highly sought after. Anybody know? The guy's highlight reel looks promising.

RE: Recruits for 2017-2018
I was looking up our recruits on Twitter yesterday and we list in our releases that we have a commit in James Harrison, but from Twitter it looks as if Lamar has signed him 3 days ago. Am I late to the party on this one or do I have the wrong James Harrison?

Different James Harrison. He's already on Lamar's roster and was a Ut-Martin transfer.

I wouldn't put much stock into the relative lack of information on Edwards, even in this day of information overload. I remember finding very little about TJ Cromer and he had 3 dozen or so offers coming into ETSU (I learned this after his arrival). I do know that SMU, Washington State, and some others were looking at Edwards. I'm not sure if they offered, but that indicates to me that he was probably projected at the midmajor/major thin line.

On paper, Edwards looks especially good on defense ranking in the top 20 in SPG - in a d1-loaded JUCO conference. We'll need that after losing AJ's ball hawking.

RE: Recruits for 2017-2018
Great interview with Coach Forbes this morning. Especially interested to hear that Armas, Edwards and Rodriguez were initially considered long shots to come here as there was a lot of high mid-mahor interest in them. Also, intriguing is Armas' decision to skip the U20 European tournament in order to start school work early here. Also, somewhat infuriating that Peter's application for another year of eligibility is being held up by Indiana's tardiness or refusal to release documents concerning Peter's limited playing time there. I never have had much of a positive opinion about the IU athletic administration based on new stories I have read; this does nothing to lessen that.

I forgot to mention I'm pretty sure I heard Coach say that a 6'9" or 6'10" prospect was visiting this weekend.

The only 2 recruits left on the "board" for us by Verbal commits
are
Simeon Kirkland 6'8 PF
Rey Idowu a 6'9 PF
Both High school kids from Florida and both mentioned on here before.

Might be one of them who is coming.

Kirkland seems to have more offers.

Get one of them and maybe a 5th year guy (that would mean no Jurkin)

According to his Twitter page, Bucs offer 6'4" Gate City wing - and Mac McClung teammate - Zac Ervin ('19).

Ervin averaged around 25 points per game for GC and earned 2nd team all-state honors in his sophomore season. Really good outside shooter and ball handler, but because of his size and a lack of size on Gate City's team, Ervin often has to guard post players. Would love to see the Mac and Zac Attack at ETSU!

I hear you, and there's definitely added motivation in McClung being a friend, but Ervin isn't chopped liver. If I'm not mistaken this is Zac's fourth mid-major offer before his junior year in high school and he also plays on one of the better AAU teams in his age group. There's a chance that he could continue to improve his game just as McClung has and be a very good player either here or at another D-1 school.

Apparently it was Rey Idowu.

Anyone know anything about Rey? I couldn't find much of anything besides a couple of videos. He does have a few other decent offers from other Mid-Majors. What kind of stats did he put up in HS?
