RE: Question re: tiebreaker for hosting
If both lose another game............... ODU (if they don't lose another)

With MT's matador defense, you just never know.

It's because our league's written tiebreaker procedures for football are a joke. They can't be applied as written, meaning the procedure is worthless. It's bitten the league in the butt twice before, and they still haven't addressed it!

I'm in your camp.....it's sad the question still has to be asked...

in relative comparison but not in stature, it's why I went to hundredths on the 0-25 scale when I once ran a few ff h2h leagues....at least I was able to mathematically eliminate a tie as part of the equation....shockingly, that evolved to becoming the norm

it's no longer my job to fix other companies problems.....so, as a fan it's flat out annoying this continually pops up

...and I only opine for free these days....

All I know is USM will be winning the west, I just hope we're ranked higher than WKU/MTSU in the polls because it'd be an INSANE atmosphere at The Rock if we hosted.

It's not the case this year, but in a few years when the MHSAA state championships are played in Hattiesburg, it will take place on CCG weekend

Unlikely.

Obviously USM has one more loss than MT, but that Kentucky win is looking better and better for USM.

If its not in Shreveport, it'll be in Bowling Green.

RE: Question re: tiebreaker for hosting
If it's not in Ruston, it's likely that a 1 loss eastern team would be ranked higher than a 1 loss USM. Tech benefits from the head to head win over WKU and WKU's head to head win over MTSU.

No cockiness about that. If we win out its in Shreveport. If we lose to you its in Bowling Green. Only thing stopping that is a WKU meltdown in the next few weeks.

This is correct. USM may win the west but they won't host.

Is there a good reason we won't? It's not like WK is getting votes.

The computers have USM behind WKU, Tech, and MT. However, a win over Tech might give you a significant bump... But probably not enough to pass WKU. Could be close though.

As TWon said USM is currently behind the two most likely teams to win the east. Beating Tech would help but very unlikely to be enough without WKU and MT losing another game.

Troy going 11-1 would help USM a bit.
