Be prepared. Tech has blown out UNT the last two years, if Tech loses that one than Tech might just go 0-fer. Takes more than one season with a new coach 3-9 or 4-8 would be optimistic.
Edit even the 4-8 guy has UNT beating Tech hahaha

Yeah not buying it. Tech has blown out UNT the last two years, if Tech loses that one than Tech might just go 0-fer. Takes more than one season with a new coach 3-9 or 4-8 would be optimistic
Yeah totally get that. But LT is going through some changes also. My (homer biased) rationale was that NT did a decent job with Marshall who had a similar transition.

Higgins that good?
Could be, he is a Red shirt senior with a very good and experienced O-line with some good young running backs. This will make it easier for him.
If UNT wins 7 then Littrell should win CUSA coach of the year hands down
Anyways good in-depth preview of the mean green, thanks for sharing

I'm very curious by that take. It was 17-0 before the first quarter was out, and your offense crossed midfield once in the first half against the starting D. Marshall's fans and most of the first team really didn't bother to return to the field in the second half, and you finished with a total of 128 passing yards and managed a garbage time TD with a minute left. You weren't close to being competitive.
Here's the video if you need the reminder.

Marshall did dominate, but I disagree with the competitive part. NT came in allowing 50 a game, and only gave up 30. Outside of the early 17, NT's defense played really well after. UM had to get a fake punt in there for a first down, also.
NT ran really well and basically moved the ball without competent quarterbacking. Playing What If doesn't have a lot of utility, but if we had even some kind of competent guy back there, the game would have played much closer.
More detail here, where I gave Marshall due credit, and there is more context.

Uh....rainstorm.. Cold and bitter. That game was never competitive... Sorry.. But that was last year... So, we'll see... But getting outscored 301-102 isn't much to look forward to...
Nice writeup. 3-5 wins seems doable if a few things go right. Going to be an uphill climb, but North Texas had to have the worst QB production in the nation over the last 2 years. Hopefully the new coach gets it figured out.

Totally agree. In fact, our lack of passing ability made our offense very one dimensional, and allowed defenses to cheat up against the run. I really believe RB Jeffrey Wilson will have a huge season, with Alec Morris QBing Littrell's offense.
Feel like this is not so unreasonable anymore. Two very winnable games left (UTSA, UTEP) and two of the three games against the CUSA favorites at Apogee. Seven wins is within reach.

Except for those directly associated with the team, you may be the only one who's expectations going into the season has not been met yet (I had us at four wins).
