7 losses would only be eligible if all other catergories are filled and still empty slots.

I am projecting only 76 teams will get to 6 wins or better, leaving 4 spots for non-qualifying teams.

If you're 5-7 and you beat five FBS teams, then you did just as much as a 6-6 team that beat five FBS and one FCS, in my opinion. 07-coffee3

RE: Week 9 Bowl Eligible Tracker - Must be within 1 game of Eligibility
The ACC has 4 eligible teams. While Pitt lost to fail to become eligible, Va Tech got its 6th win in the process. That's 23 currently eligible.

And C-USA also has La Tech needing a win against Rice this week to become eligible. All told, after last night's games, there are 22 more schools who could gain eligibility this week (23 need only one win, but two of them - Memphis and Tulsa - play each other).

Last year, there were 41 eligible teams after Week 9.

It occurs to me after rereading your post that you were already counting Va Tech. However, you weren't counting UNC who became eligible when they beat Virginia.

UNC doesn't need to win 7 games to be eligible. They must have at least six wins, no more than one of which can be against an FCS team. They already have that, as they haven't yet played that second FCS team (The Citadel).

You are correct, that was my mistake. The could lose to Citadel and still be eligible. Not use to FCS games being so late in the season. I will correct.

Hey, we've been lousy recently enough that this is still worth a little celebration.

Just updated - Lot of teams did not do what was needed. Especially mine, they probably just replaced by Syracuse for a bowl spot. :(

I am confused by the "lost" next to WKU @ FAU. WKU won 52-3 and is now Bowl Eligible for the 6th season in a row.
