I tend to think that's insane and stupid...not sure why Palm would be predicting that, except for click bait

Anyone with any brains watching college football has a clear idea of the top 4

Washington just beat ranked Utah, while Texas A&M played cupcake New Mexico State

Jerry Facepalm always trolls western teams when he makes his basketball bracket predictions -- e.g., he'll predict only 2 Pac-12 teams in the NCAA tournament until his very last bracket when he switches it to whatever the correct number obviously is for that season. So it's no surprise he does the same in football.

On the other hand ... the only legit western representative on the entire CFP committee is the Oregon AD, so it's not crazy to predict that Washington will get shafted.
Rice and Ty Willingham, and one other.

Condi Rice -- Alabama native and lifelong Crimson Tide fan. Ty Willingham -- coached in several places; fired by Washington after an 0-12 season. Good luck with that, Huskies.

RE: 1st ratings next week
Ratings were probably accurate. I have no problem with P5 unbeaten teams being ranked above us. Texas A&M has played a better schedule than us so no problem with that either.

It does appear however, that both the Big12 and PAC12 are at a disadvantage with this system as it is currently set up. Realistically, ND may never win another Football National Championship.

Too many SEC and Big 10 members on the committee.

A&M is top 8, but has not looked like #4. UL or Ohio St. have been more impressive. As I noted, UW's schedule is pretty weak, so I wasn't surprised they weren't #4. #9-#13 looked like they got SEC/Big 10 benefit of a doubt.

RE: 1st ratings next week
Not surprising to be #5, our OOC schedule was weak. I feel if we handle our business and win out we will be fine.

To echo what Dasville said above, I do think that the PAC is always going to be swimming upstream in this system.

The only way this will be fixed IMO, will be when we have a P4 and all of the big programs have to play the closest thing possible to a balanced schedule. With everyone having to travel, play the same amount of conference games, and taking out the fluff games will be what the networks want and they will get. Sorry off subject...

The 1st rankings are fine, I believe Ohio state in 14' and Oklahoma in 15' were both outside the top 10 and made the playoff. So as many people are saying, there's a lot of games still left to play. Let's see what happens

I think the question will be if Washington loses a game- but still wins the Pac 12, will they be in?

A lot will depend on what everyone else does. If there is only one unbeaten and UW is one of 2 with only 1 loss at the end of the season, then yes they'll have a very good chance.

At first blush though I would say the one game they could of lost and still make the CFP was Saturday in Utah. USC, WSU, and whoever they play in the PAC12 championship will be enough to propel them into the playoffs but a loss down the stretch will probably be to late in the season to recover from.

What if it's a loss in a rematch to a ranked Utah team in the CCG? I don't think a team who didn't even make their CCG should jump them.

they would. The rules don't say divisional championships mattering. It's conference championships. And with the garbage OOC schedule that Washington has, they really are all or nothing now.

If a P12 or B12 team can't get in the playoffs with one loss does that mean there are really only three P3 conferences and two G5+ & five G5- conferences.
