FBS HC Salaries
http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/

Salaries, including EMU's, have gone through the roof. Check out Genyk's 10 years ago.

I was hinting at what it would cost EMU to pay CC if he has a winning record, goes to a bowl, wins a bowl game, etc.

Apparently his contract is written with a lot of 'IF's', if bowl game, if MACC champion, if, if, if...

Wow, it's incredible that one can be a millionaire doing something they love. It's even more incredible to think most of these coaches would work for a fraction of their contracts. It's all about egos....

At any rate, if EMU wants to grow a positive image of our beloved university, then we need to give CC a raise to keep him. If we finish 10-3 (after bowl win), we are going to get a lot of free publicity. In fact, I would bet a business equation could be formulated to illustrate that the positive image and benefit sports programs generate for a university far outweigh the ridiculous high coaching salaries.

If I recall, back in our Cal Bowl and basketball NC2A tournament heydays, the number of admission applications increased significantly. Recently Butler University reported a substantial increase in student applications after their back to back finals run.

Harbaugh's salary is ridiculous, but he has the national meeting talking about UofM nearly every day. On a smaller scale, the Midwest is talking about WMU and Fleck.

I don't want to go back to the ridicule and embarrassment our football use to bring EMU, so hopefully we find a way to keep CC and grow his vision. I bet he has big plans for EMU.

Go Eagles!!!

RE: FBS HC Salaries
How about we beat Miami, become bowl eligible, and recruit better than 10th in the MAC, before we start talking raises.

Thanks.

It makes my point: That EMU is likely to have to pay signficant dollars to CC for things like a bowl bid, maybe bowl win, maybe conference COY, etc. etc.

And yes, a roll over provision is in the contract as is other contracts, e.g., Murphy.
