Would anyone in this forum react any differently if someone tried to take something from you?
Warren taught Ben Stiller a lesson when he tried to mess with his headphones until Mary stepped in.
Good reference.
And if all goes according to plan, that principal's going to wind up with his wiener stuck in his zipper.

But he'll now understand that handling a kid (or his stuff) these days is as risky as sticking your hand in a hornet's nest. Especially in an inner city school, where a lot of these kids are from neighborhoods where violence and disrespecting authority is the ruling mindset.
I don't know how those teachers and principals do it. The job is half instructing, half being a prison guard.
Inner city kids don't have many possessions and they've often times have had things stolen from them. They have had to learn that you have to fight for what you have.
Looking at this dude, I gather that he didn't grown up in the hood and doesn't know the way things are around there. Otherwise, he would not have done what he did.

On cue, here comes the lawyer to explain away his actions.
Quote:The student, identified as Luis Penzo, was arraigned on assault charges. His lawyer said he was acting out because his mother died of a brain aneurysm last year.

Yeah, I hate to draw conclusions from just a photo. But the picture just oozes "gentle, naive, suburban dad." A school like that probably needs a drill instructor type with a few tatts.

None of that excuses what the student did. The Principal is the victim here, not the student.

I never said it excused the student's actions. The kid is vermin, as far as I'm concerned.
I'm just wondering if the principal is street-smart enough for that school. He might need to be more cognizant of his own personal safety.
I've never lived/worked in the hood, but even I'd think long and hard before I physically remove and take a kid's headphones off his person, especially one with a violent past, in an inner city school that one student told the media is getting "out of control."

No one is excusing the kid. He was arrested on assault charges and rightfully so. It's just that the whole event could have been avoided had the Principal acted differently. He broke the most important rule.

Racist? Where on earth did you get that idea? I said nothing whatsoever about the race of either person involved in this incident.

Kaplony,
How did I describe the student's reaction in a way that "makes it seem proper, more attractive, etc." You pulled out the dictionary, so now defend it.
Wondering if he considered his own personal safety well enough in that situation - using any sort of physical interaction, mild as it was, with a teen who has a prior violent arrest record - is a mutually exclusive topic.

They are a bunch of race pimps who play the race card every chance they get. The OP is their leader.

You know what? You're right. Arrest the principal, this "adult" is fully within his rights to use any force necessary up to and including killing him because heaven forbid someone touches his f'n headphones.
Where did I say that we should arrest the Principal?
Rule #1 is that you don't touch students unless they are a danger to themselves or others. That is teaching 101.
The student should and did get arrested for the assault.
Once again however, you guys fail to consider what happens before the assault took place.
And you fail to understand sarcasm if it slapped you in the face.
