Guess we can't expect a tougher game.

We play Bama in 2018 as well. Guess they are fattening up on SBC teams that year.

So we are so confident that we are on the decline in football we schedule two road SEC games to make up for bowl money. How bad can it be two SEC, probably GS, App St, Ark St oh yea makes for a stupid schedule.

This is why I hate Alabama! They dont play Non Conference Games on the road unless they are at a neutral site. Its been years since they did. Hell if any Sunbelt school could pull that off they would be in the national picture as well.

At least Alabama is our only guarantee. In fact, it's part of what will be a much weaker OOC slate for us with Tulsa and UNLV providing the other FBS games. I'll sacrifice getting our brains beat in by Bama to keep those G5 games plus Southeast Missouri as our FCS.

Take a deep breath. There are so many fans who want us playing P5 schools home and home (or in the case of Mississippi State, home and Dome).

But that means you gotta go there.

The road game in 18 is the first game of the two year contract.

You see, those that wanna play home games against P5's need to understand the year you go to their place, you will play two P5's on the road.

Because you still need the guarantee game.

This has nothing to do with bowls or lack thereof.

Tulsa may not be that bad. They played Houston tough and have had successful teams in the past; most notably when they had G.J. Kinne running the offense.

I'm not sure it's name as much as it is that Mohajir is very stubborn about insisting 1.7 to 1.8 million for guarantees or we don't play.

Got to price the guarantees in such a way that they make up for the loss of a home game. I'm fairly confident the Cajuns could get about the same amount we got if they asked.

2018 Schedule

LAFAYETTE – Football officials from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette announced on Wednesday an agreement to a playing date against the University of Alabama for the 2018 season.

Louisiana and Alabama, a 16-time national champion and member of the Southeastern Conference, will meet on Sept. 29, 2018 at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The meeting between the schools will be the ninth in a series (that dates back to 1941) with Alabama claiming the previous eight contests.

The meeting will also be the first between the teams since Oct. 6, 1990 when Alabama claimed a 25-6 win at Cajun Field.

"To play against one of the most iconic names in college football, along with competing in one of the top venues in the country is an exciting opportunity for both our team and our fanbase," Louisiana Director of Athletics Scott Farmer said. "With their rich history and tradition, our fans will be very anxious to attend that game."

The game for Louisiana is the second non-conference game announced for the 2018 season with the Ragin' Cajuns scheduled to face fellow SEC member Mississippi State on Nov. 3, 2018 in Starkville
