OT: Question for RVA Dukes
I'm planning on moving back to Richmond and was wondering where are places to live for young professionals... I originally from the area but Richmond has changed so much that it's completely foreign to me. Thanks!

OT: Question for RVA Dukes
Scott's addition is the new "hot" area with breweries, restaurants, and would be where I lived if I were 10 years younger.

Carytown or the Museum District are hot as well. A lot of young professionals living in Manchester too. So many good options near downtown now.

Trick question. All Richmond is dirty and should be avoided like the plague, or that girl that you're pretty sure has the clap.

I second Museum District, some young professional live downtown but I don't think it's worth the pain of parking. Scott's Addition has a bunch of new cool lofts too.

RE: OT: Question for RVA Dukes
Are you planning on renting or buying? My recommendation would be the upper fan (Shields to Boulevard) or museum district. Just don't move to Short Pump and you'll be good.

I live in Short Pump. I may not qualify as a young professional anymore, but if you like living in an area with no crime and off street parking, short pump has some great places to live. I've worked in Innsbrook and currently work downtown, the commute is not as bad as Richmond folks try to make it sound.

RE: OT: Question for RVA Dukes
I would concur with fan/museum district, even heading into the near west end. When I moved into town from Midlothian after graduating from law school, we lived at Georgetown Apartments which was an awesome place, reasonably priced and within walking distance to Carytown and the Fan. We loved living there, we just outgrew it!

Also, as President of the RVA Dukes - I hope you can make it to some of our events and connect with some fellow Dukes in the area!

The fan area gets my vote.
