Biancamano leaving
Senior Associate Athletic Director for Fundraising and External Development David Biancamano announced on Wednesday that he will be leaving his position as head of the Duke Club in order to assume the role of Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Development at the University of Massachusetts. Assistant A.D. for Major Gifts Bryan Allen will assume interim direction of the Duke Club.

"David has done great work for us at JMU and will certainly be missed," Bourne said. "We have seen tremendous growth from the Duke Club in terms of our annual fund, capital projects and other initiatives under his direction. We wish him the best but also know that the unit will be in good hands with Bryan's leadership combined with a dedicated and hard-working team."

"So many people have impacted my time here but I want to personally thank Charlie King, Jeff Bourne and Geoff Polglase for all the support and guidance they have provided to me," said Biancamano, a New England native with remaining family ties to the area. "I will miss the countless relationships that have formed through the years and will always cherish the many memories from Madison. The culture here is special and I'm glad I got the chance to experience it. I wish the best to the staff, coaches and student-athletes as they continue to excel in all areas of focus."

A good guy. Hate to see him go, but I understand the move. Good luck Dave and best wishes.

Is he getting a pay raise? I changed jobs recently & despite putting a positive spin on it about "moving closer to family" it really came down to getting away from bad leadership, even if I had to take a slight pay cut (which I did).

On the surface, similar titles at a very low end Independent FBS vs higher end FCS certainly seems lateral.

Would have to be a lot more $$$ just to make up for Mass. taxes and cost of living vs Harrisonburg.

I would guess that the pay is higher to adjust for COL. I will also say that Amherst is a good bit out from Boston and the real estate there and in the surrounding area is nowhere near prices in Boston.

I also think that the family aspect was big in the move as well.
