I can see your point. I blame Bill Clinton and his saxophone.

What about Tricky Dick appearing on Laugh In? Or are Democrats the only ones barred from comedy shows?

You will be the modern Nero fiddling as Rome burns.

This board said the same thing 8 years ago and I'm pretty good with things. The boardmpredicted an apocalypse and yet.... not so bad. 07-coffee3

Well, the Apocalypse is a slow occurring event.

Except for the economy

and infrastructure

and costs of health insurance

and rising levels of terrorism

and a weakened military

and the social divide along racial lines

and abandoning Iraq early and the growth of ISIS.

and expanding drone warfare with a subsequent large number of civilian casualties.

and allowing Cabinet officers to do politics on government time in violation of the Hatch Act.

and allowing Cabinet officers to violate the laws on removing confidential information and destroying government records.

and having Cabinet officers personally profiting from foreign contributions to their family foundation while said foreigners are lobbying the same Cabinet officer for various waivers.

and don't forget using the IRS to attack your enemies.

Oh, and thanks, President Obama, for all that racial healing!

I think it was beneath the office then too.

It's sad when clear, unambiguous, non-partisan comments like "below the office of the President" and "such behavior is below the dignity of the office." are met with "Oh yeah, well you didn't specifically call out Nixon on Laugh In."

I was responding to VA49er who brought up Bill Clinton on Arsenio and said he was to blame. Just seemed selective to bring up Bill but not the president who started the entertainment dip.

Obviously, this doesn't bother me. I also think if Republicans would worry less about whether their president is on entertainment shows and getting hummers from interns and more about whether their president is starting the wrong war, deregulating the wrong bank or looking out for the middle class we'd be a lot better off.

Solution? Help elect a President who supported the Iraq War and is completely in bed with Wall Street. 03-lmfao

Too bad he didn't read any of his secret e-mails to Hillary written under a pseudonym that he lied about.

Except we weren't on the verge of collapse.

Standard PR ploy, exaggerate how bad the situation you inherited was, in order to make you look better.

Were we not in the worst recession since the Great Depression?

Standard PR ploy, exaggerate how bad the current situation is, in order to instill mass voter hysteria.
