The gap between 2 and 3 is pretty much spot on. Arkansas State will likely end up in the 70's or 80's after they go 7-1 in conference.

You can also beat Central Arkansas, but you didn't. And the Liberty game was a figment of your imagination, so no need to bring it up.

Losing to Central Arkansas has nothing to do with whether or not we can beat Troy. I do remember a team who about cancelled it's football season after losing to Liberty then turning around and beating two of the top teams in the conference that year on the road.

It's happened several times in this league where a team has gotten off to an awful OOC start, taken an FCS loss and then turned things around in league play. Most every example I see included teams with young QB's that gradually started getting more experienced as they got into league play.

Also worth noting that UCA is 6-1 and is ranked in the top 15 of FCS. They are going to likely finish with 9 or 10 wins looking at the remaining schedule.

I think ericsaid is trying to imply StAte will have their one loss to App State.

Troy beat #8 Charleston Southern last year 44-16 and lead 44-9 with two minutes left before they got a garbage time touchdown. There's not really a way you can explain it other than a really, really bad loss.

Anyone in the league can beat Troy. So far four have tried and Troy's won all four. You'll see a notable difference between a 6-1 FCS squad in UCA and a 6-1 FBS program at Troy.

I think it'll be a tough game for Troy, I fully admit that. But some are reading way to much into our rivalry matchup with USA and licking your chops with a lot of confidence. We gave them the ball inside the 33 and the 10 early in the first quarter and they scored both times. We outscored them 28-7 the rest of the way. People are seeing the box score from GSU and USA and assuming our defense isn't all that great when we gave them short fields off of turnovers and a failed punt. We still lead the conference in turnover margin and red zone defense, so don't expect us to keep turning the ball over.

Nice attempt to discredit the credit I was actually dishing out to you all. Considering the way State played OOC, 7-1 would be an accomplishment. Their only probable loss remaining is Troy. The others are possibilities but State, despite their coaching staff, will rumble to finish at 7-1.

I'm sure you can. It doesn't mean that you will. If there was a season set up for Troy to get back to the top of the conference, this was it. I just don't know that State will. I think it will be much like the USA game for Troy in that State's offense isn't consistent but they have the defense to keep the game close.

StAte can't beat Troy. If you can only manage 45 total rushing yards on Central Arkansas, then I'm thinking you'll manage -45 against Troy. Neal Brown will show Anderson how to properly run an offense. 05-stirthepot

We managed only 45 yards rushing on UCA, before we proceeded to physically ram the ball down Georgia Southern and South Alabama's throats over and over again.

Yeah, both teams suck, but the run game has changed significantly from the monstrosity that was UCA. The thing about that UCA game is for the first time ever, Blake Anderson felt pressure on his job. We've been an entirely different offense since league play started

And Troy's run defense is not very good...lets be clear here.

We only lead the conference in several major defensive rushing categories including yards per play (2.77), rushing touchdowns (4), and yards per game (91.25). Statistically, it's the best sunbelt rushing defense, yards per game, in the last five years, but "Troy's run defense is not very good".

No SBC team since before 2008 has held conference opponents to 2.77 yards per play on the ground.

In SBC play A-State leads the SBC in rushing. Immovable object meets irresistible force?

And outside of Clemson, which sparking run game did you play? South can't run, Georgia State didn't under manning and Idaho got down so big they had to pass. Southern Miss certainly isn't a run first team.
