That Vice doc IMO really discredits that entire organization as a whole. I have never seen such an unprofessional interview of a major figure.

The dude has pulled some highly unethical (and illegal) tactics in the stock market, is involved with racketeering and money laundering. That doesn't even begin to touch base on the fact that this guy got his start as a hacker. Funny enough what he is best known for, making $175 million on copyright infringement doesn't come close to his worst deeds.

Nah.. I still refuse to call Assange a hero, Kronke. That being said, he stuck his neck out to expose corruption when our media won't.

There was a term I heard on the radio this morning for when the media is actually trying to 'prop-up' a specific government (in this case Democrats) compared to being the "4th branch of govt"... oh yeah, it was called a "third world media" (it's a legitimate term).

It basically means the media is no longer looking out to report on the government in hand, but to assist the government in trying to implement whatever they want to have done.

Disagree John.. I believe Assange, if he were to step off the embassy at any time.. would be an instant target for a hit squad (sanctioned or unsanctioned)... and if not, he'd be in jail in a heartbeat where someone would find him a day later with a shiv in his spine.

Again, I remember hearing about dotcom some time ago.. but I can't remember if it was for him getting busted or him reporting something he hacked into (off the top of my head), so I don't remember how 'sensationalistic' he's been.
