Not looking forward to this game. Citadel is a monster this year. Hopefully the boys rally together and shock the world.

I just want to see the guys play hard for 4 quarters and limit mistakes. Don't give up big gains on first down!

15-9 all time against them. Of course this one ain't like days of old. As you all know, of course, even that depleted 2003 team beat them their last game -- a heroic showing for those young men and coaches given the circumstances. So, here's looking to getting back to our past type games with them ASAP under these happier days circumstances.

Agreed. One problem I have seen from our losses is our starting field position has been dreadful. We have to get better punt returns.

This could get ugly. In our 4 losses, our run game has been basically non-existent. When thats the case, our passing suffers tremendously. Hopefully we can get an even balance going in this one, but it will be tough

RE: Official Game Thread: #7 The Citadel
Down to the last four, the two coming up on the road and the final two at home. How's everyone approaching these games? The players have seven games under their belts now. How can this experience translate into better results on the field? Are mistakes being eliminated from this experience? Is confidence being built? Are skills being improved? Are winning attitudes being forged? Is the corner in sight? What are the coaches looking to get done in these final four? Is this gut-check time for everyone involved in this program, or is that an old fashion sentiment in the contemporary world of college football? GO BUCS.

All great questions. As Fan1 mentioned, this team needs to play 4 full quarters again. This weekend is going to be very tough. Just being competitive in this game would go a long way.

I think we all are still waiting for a couple of guys to become stars for this team. When healthy, Nasir Player has been one of those guys. Need someone on offense to become that guy that everytime he has the ball in his hands they are dangerous.

The offense looked better, but the D struggled big time.

I wouldn't say the offensive look better at all. They had 12 total yards at the begining of the 2nd qtr, then 29 towards the end of the first half. #9 got behind of the corner add picked up a nice 58 yard gain and they went to the half with a total somewhere around 116 yards as compared to approx 286 for the citadel. So in a seance more than half their total O came on one play. They did start to get some yards later in the second half, but the citadel changed out most of their defence at that time.

The real setback looked to be the D. #45 had a good game but the secondary had to make way too many tackles on run plays (and I don't mean options outside) I'm talking middle dives, traps and counters.

I sat on the home side in the shade, and I swear that cannon was pointed straight at my wife and I. The man sitting next to me had a great joke. He said he hadn't heard that much artillery since Vietnam!

I can't make the next game as we will be at the Coastal Carolina game. Good luck all, we'll be listening.

They'll get there. Already won more than last year, have beaten two Division I teams and won a conference game.

No doubt! This is a very young team. I do however question some of the coaching decisions. Buy hey, that's football.

I really appreciate your point of view. I am just a real Buc fan and not an expert on the workings of football. Nice to read an insider's opinion. From my perspective I believe we need to get both lines beefed up for next year.

They're so limited with the amount of true scholarship athletes they've got, it's hard to get a feel on what they're doing. All I keep hoping for is progress.
