you said you would leave the board if we did not get into the Big12, you are still posting, therefore you are a liar. FACT

Give it rest. This is a message board. I'm glad he is still posting. The factual content on this board is most likely somewhere on the other side of zero.

Why in the world would ESPN want to re-negotiate? There is no need to do this in their, somewhat, precarious financial position.

I think this is just more BS thrown against the wall to see what sticks.

TC, has your supplier come back to town? Please put down the pipe, you were doing so well, and now you'll have to go back to the meeting and pick up a chip. Please stop!

I've heard this was very possible a few weeks ago, basically was told ESPN could retain rights without it hitting market for others to bid on. ESPN makes very very very good money off the AAC contract. It's the ONLY football contract they haven't overpaid for. Where I heard this had zero ties to Memphis.

Fact Amazon will be getting some of the AAC Women's Basketball and some other Non Revenue Sports and this is a Big deal for the AAC with a Raise possibly coming from Espn to boot....Seperation from all the other G5's helps big time too....#The World Is Ours Memphis....

I will bet a months paycheck the new contract WONT include Amazon Prime. Maybe Twitter but not Facebook or Amazon.

Ok, thanks for the post. Like anything else on the board, it is your opinion, so I'll just stand by and see what (if anything) develops from this potential situation. Maybe something good, but I already see some holes in this that leave me skeptical.

So their response is to voluntarily pay us more until the AAC is no longer profitable for them either?

Soooo, let me get this straight. ESPN will voluntarily pay the AAC more money on a TV contract for football/basketball that they are not contractually obligated to pay because Amazon will pay actual US dollars to broadcast a bunch of University sponsored sports that are only attended by parents of the players? Makes perfect economic sense.

Well, I can believe that they might. If ESPN is paying X and making 10X, they may agree to pay 2X to keep making 10X, in an effort to keep the AAC from negotiating with FOX where the AAC might make 6X. The question is whether the AAC would agree to that. Remember, Aresco said that the AAC agreed to lower pay with ESPN for better exposure. Now that the AAC has established itself as the best of the G5, it might be time to grab the $$$ (ok, maybe the $$).

Espn wants to increase the AAC and secure it's future to keep it from getting to open market...Amazon and AAC about to annouce agreement deal for Some Womens BB games Non Revenue sports and possibly a few Mens BB games with great partnership going forward....Aresco knows Media and TV and knows where the future is heading too....SO to have a foot in the door with Amazon is a Big Deal and a Combo deal With ESPN and then Amazon for Non Revenue Sports and Some Women's BB and Maybe a few Men's BB Games could be a huge step.....AAC will get More Money soon....Stay Tuned....#The World Is Ours Memphis....

The AAC more likely is being dropped by ESPN and will end up on CBSSN or NBCSN.

Word on the street is Bravo is in the mix

Correct.

Good news for AAC and ESPN is that the Navy Home Games are being added to the AAC TV Deal in 2018 (Navy still has an agreement with CBS/CBS Sports for their home games).

And yes, compared to what Aresco had to sell the first time around (brand new conf without any history or success), he now has results to help sell (National Men's Basketball Title...BCS And NY6 Bowl Wins)...and now a Top 25 Navy Team that will be added to their inventory soon.

ESPN Networks still gives the AAC the best "exposure" for football and especially basketball...so I do hope AAC sticks with ESPN for the next go around...and ESPN probably knows if they are able to get a contract extension (say for additional 5 years), for a increase in payout...it still might be cheaper than if AAC went to open market in 2019 and got bids from NBC, CBS and FOX.

they feel bad about torpedoing the Big12 Expansion? 03-drunk

Once again a full of crap liar is allowed to come on this board and spew non-sense --- even after he promised to leave if we were not named to the Big12, even after he is a proven liar time after time.

I know the mods don't get paid here but damn...

Wow. Someone needs to get laid.
