Does a three loss Houston......
....take some of the shine off of Tom Herman, to the point that LSU and presumably Texas would not pursue him?

Nope he has already been hired by one of them. Most likely he is being highly encouraged to lose games by his new employer.

I don't think he's trying to lose games. What he's doing is like trying to be married to two wives.

I know you don't actually believe that, but do you think that his agent has had conversations, that has leaked to his team, and that is effecting their play?

He may be already gone and the players know it, not from what he's doing or saying to them but because of what he's doing for his next job. It's possible that right now even his assistants and recruits for next year are being compromised.

Having gone through it at UM last year just a straight answer for a straight question

Other than losses, what evidence is there that Fuentes was prepping for his next job late in the year? Was anything uncovered?

No but once the speculation starts it can do damage if only in terms of perception.

Maybe SMU just kicked your arse.

Yup they kicked our arse but it certainly helps when your coach doesn't care about winning the game.

This ^^^ wouldn't surprise me... Funny how all of sudden nothing seems to be clicking anymore and I mean everywhere, offense, defense, special teams, coaching, absolutely nothing. SMH

Haha, excuses? Sometimes player eat too much BS about how great they are. Sometimes they're simply overrated. Be glad UH got away with that caper vs Tulsa. What a collapse! Don't fret, there are plenty of 2nd rate bowl for UH, from Ft. Worth to Nassua!

No but once the speculation starts it can do damage if only in terms of perception.

Riley Ferguson was quoted in the media, IIRC, as saying Fuente recruited him to Memphis, and then to Va Tech.

An ex-player told a friend of mine that the players found out about Fuente leaving at some point in the season (I forget the timing). He also said both coaches and players were distracted.

One coach on Fuente's staff (Vance Vice) was caught recruiting for Va Tech as we were preparing for the bowl game and was asked to leave, IIRC.

If that was true, UH should at least be glad to be rid of him.

But of course that's not true.
