He was the coach when I first starting following the Tigers as a kid. 98 is a nice number. Good luck Coach.

Actually Eugene Lambert (20-7 ranked as high as #12 (54-55)& 17-5 ranked as high as #15 (55-56) w/NCAA appearances both years) just prior to Vanatta got the attention of the college BB world. But Vanatta made a big statement over the next 6 yrs with great winning teams each year, some big time wins & post season success. He had some teams that could play with anyone back in the day. Got him the Mizzou job as a result. I knew his son, Tim pretty well. We played on a youth league team together a couple of yrs & we won the city park commission championship both yrs. Coach Vanatta used to come to our games when he could. He didn't interfere with the coaching but would chew our butts if he saw something he didn't like.

PoopDreams would have fired him after year two?

Saloogi would have sent a letter to the editor about his strength coach?

NIT was much more prestigious back then.

Alabama, as head coach for several years then back to Memphis State as AD. As background, Memphis had better BB but AL paid better.
