RE: Week 9 CAA Standings & Games
Besides the JMU/URI game:

Elon (2-5/1-3) @ Albany (4-3/1-3) (noon, ASN)

UNH (5-3/4-1) @ SBU (5-2/4-0) (noon). CAA Game of the Week.

Maine (4-3/3-1) @ W&M (3-4/1-3) (3:30)

TU (1-6/0-4) @ UD (2-5/0-4) (3:30, CSN): The battle for the CAA cellar.
TU still has Elon and URI. and URI and Elon still play each other. UD misses both Elon and URI, so this might be their last decent chance to get a CAA win.

Byes: RU, VU

Week 9 CAA Standings & Games
I should know the answer to this, but if us and Stonybrook both run the table, are we "co-champions" or is there a tiebreaker? We would have the better overall record in that scenario.

Unfortunately, the CAA doesn't believe in using tie-breaker scenarios and its a moot point this year since JMU and SB didn't play head to head anyways. We would end up as "co-champions" with SB if both won out.
Last year UR/WM/JMU were all declared co-champions despite the fact that UR beat both of them head to head. EW even got CAA champion rings made for last year.

Then who would get the auto qualifier in that scenario?

Last year it went to UR. Which proves they have tie breakers, they just like to hand out participation trophies.

If memory serves, the "tie breaker" was used for the AQ only, and not to select a "Champion" for the regular season. Ergo: Co-Champs.

With no head to head (with stonybrook in this scenario), I hope its overall record and not something like points allowed

The CAA AQ tiebreakers are:
1) head to head records
2) win loss percentage against highest placed common opponents
3) sagarin ELO CHESS rating

Not sure how #2 will end up, but we are currently about 47 slots ahead of SB in Sagarin.

If we are both 8-0 in conference, then the Sagerin rating will decide the AQ.

RE: Week 9 CAA Standings & Games
SBU still has @ UNH (2nd straight week on road), W&M, Maine @ Albany (rivalry game).

They could win all 4 of those. They could also lose all 4. I think it will be somewhere in between like 3-1 or 2-2. I'd be very surprised if they won out. And lets face it, the odds of JMU winning out are well south of 50/50. Have to play @ RU, who will be coming off of a bye week, and 2nd straight week on road at VU.

The last 13 seasons 2003-2015 there have been I think only 3 teams to go 8-0 in the CAA:
-2006 UMass (lost in NC game)
-2008 JMU
-2014 UNH (lost in semis)

The odds of 2 teams doing it in one season is extemely extremely remote. Much higer chance that teams finish 7-1. I'm almost positive that there hasn't been 3 finishing 7-1 before..
