College Football Week 8
Boise took a big step towards getting the G5 slot by beating BYU 28-27 in a rather wild one Thursday. Virginia Tech stuck it to Miami (37-16) who fell to 4-3 and 1-3 in the ACC.

What happened to Oregon? They are 2-4 and 0-3 in the PAC12 coming into tonight and are already down early on against Cal.

And in the AAC, Temple's Armstead ran for 210 yards on 20 carries as they beat USF 46-30. Both teams are now 3-1 in the AAC.

After watching Temple plow USF there is no way we beat Temple. They will run for 450 yards on us.

I agree. Tomorrow is almost a must-win to get to bowl eligibility. There are no gimme's left on the schedule.

RE: College Football Week 8
BTW, the over/under for that Cal - Oregon game was 89.5 which is reportedly the highest for a college football game since at least 1980. Looks like it was a wild game and it made the over (although it took OT to get there after a late missed FG by Cal which still won). ESPN video recap.

Also Louisville is so dumb that they are debuting new high tech glow-in-the-dark shoes - at a day game?

I'll be cheering with my better half for Auburn to take down the Hogs at Jordan-Hare Stadium later today. A Tigers win puts them in a nice position with only one loss in the SEC West behind Bama and TXAM.

Looks like WMU has a great shot at rising to 8-0.

Texas A&M at Alabama is about as big as it gets today. I had to bail on a trip to that one...huge bummer.

Not really. Typically big games don't have a team favored by 17 points.

You should tell that to College Gameday

Point spread aside, this is the SEC and when both teams are undefeated overall and in the same division and ranked #1 and #6 respectively - that is pretty much as big as it gets IMO.

Ouch...

Louisville is up 44-0 on NC State...AT THE HALF...

I'm glad we aren't playing for the Keg this year.

You can absolutely beat us. We always have trouble with you, and we're absolutely mental week to week.

2-0 with Moeller's Ragland at QB this year after missing only 6 mos. (?!) with a completely torn ACL. I thought Bahl was actually a pretty good QB, but obviously they weren't winning with him. I don't know if he's healthy or just benched.

WMU leads EMU 31-24 in Q3. Anybody see the clip of Fleck's pregame speech on College Gameday (at least I think that's what it was) telling his team over and over that "The British are Coming"? I'm not sure I get it, but hey, whatever works I guess...

2 top 10 teams and its looked the part. Damn good game so far. Bama just ran back a fumble for a TD to go up 12 heading into the 4th quarter.

TCU is down 21 to the mountaineers. Need both WVU and Baylor to drop in order for the B12 to miss the playoffs. Both have to play OK and they play each other in their season finale.

I guess that explains the move the baton twirlers were just doing.

It definitely is closer than I though. Have to give A&M some credit for holding them to FG's the first two drives or this would have been over by half time.
