I say we are noticeably better than last year, whether statistics show it or not. I've said it more than once, we were behind St. Francis at the end of the first quarter (let that soak in for a moment) last year. They would be fortunate to score at all against us this season.

Yes, we have a ways to go, but it's sort of like people just completely forgot how mediocre Vad Lee appeared the first five games he played as a Duke, but by the end of season #2, he was a JMU legend. Last year our defense was awful. I'd say, just on the eye test, this season our "D" is in the top half of all FCS teams maybe even the top 25%.

I wouldn't go THAT far. StFU did put up 31 against Montana, 28 against TU, and scored more on Bryant than Maine did. CCSU's offense out up 14 against JMU. StFU would do similar.
