I thought both did okay. It was obvious however that the crowd felt Trump went too far. I guess someone forgot to tell him the jokes were supposed to be self deprecating.

That would be great for a stump speech or a rally but not for this charity dinner. It's supposed to be lighthearted & self deprecating celebration. The first half of Trumps speech was great but he got way too serious for the event. HRC did as well a few times. Did Trump tell any jokes about himself? I don't recall any. He did his wife but not himself. Have you ever seen Trump laugh? I haven't. Smile yes but not laugh.

RE: I'm sure you all enjoyed the Al Smith Dinner & Speeches tonight
Quote:Donald Trump is visiting a elementary school and he visits one of the classes. They are in the middle of a discussion related to words and their meanings. The teacher asks Mr Trump if he would like to lead the discussion of the word "tragedy." So he asks the class for an example of a tragedy. One little boy stands up and offers: "If my best friend who lives on a farm, is playing in the field and a runaway tractor comes along and knocks him dead, that would be a tragedy." "No," says Mr Trump, "that would be an accident." A little girl raises her hand: "If a school bus carrying 50 children drove over a cliff, killing everyone inside, that would be a tragedy." "I'm afraid not," explains the exalted businessman. "That's what we would call a great loss." The room goes silent. No other children volunteer. Mr Trump searches the room. "Isn't there someone here who can give me an example of a tragedy?" Finally at the back of the room, little Johnny raises his hand. In a quiet voice he says: "If a private jet carrying you was struck by a missile and blown to smithereens, that would be a tragedy." "Fantastic!" exclaims Mr Trump, "That's right. And can you tell me why that would be a tragedy?" "Well," says the boy, "because it sure as hell wouldn't be a great loss and it probably wouldn't be an accident either."

I wish someone included that

Well tonight I saw one of Trump's lines.

Michelle Obama gave a speech and everybody thought it was terrific.
Melania gave the same speech and everybody had a problem with it.

I liked the Pardon Me one. That was the highlight for me.

It's funny how those sycophants booed him and not Killary for the non-PC jokes. The Killary joke that was below the belt was comparing him to Putin's horse. And…yes I know what she meant.

there are some roads you shouldn't go down. during the roast of donald trump mike the situation almost got booed off the stage for going down the "melania only married him for his money" talking point.
