I've been trying to piece together ours, and every time I look at our possible conference schedule, it appears more and more likely that we're going to miss Troy this year. We're due to go to Troy in the rotation, but I'm fairly confident I know all of our conference road series now that Texas State has confired we go there, and Troy isn't on the list. Unless we host them a 2nd straight year and skip a South Alabama, troy is the only one it makes sense to sit out

That's a fun series. Sucks I guess we'll just have to eliminate them in conference tournament again.

Cajuns miss Georgia State. App, A-State, South and Texas State in Lafayette.
Troy, CCU, UTA and ULM on the road.

Three with Southern Miss, three at Sam Houston State, tournament at SELA with Hofstra and Murray State, St Peters (one of the worst teams in America) at home for three.

Midweeks with the state Southland teams and Louisiana Tech. Two with Tulane, one each with LSU (New Orleans), Houston (Lafayette) and Texas (Sugarland).

You're correct. Troy just released its schedule. stAte is not on it.

At least the coaches finally got the conference to play Easter weekend as a Thu/Fri/Sat series instead of taking families away from home on Easter Sunday.

The Easter thing is something Robichaux has pushed for over a decade. With the shift in teams (and coaches), they were more receptive when they voted on it a couple of years ago.

Still, Robe had to remind a couple what Easter is all about. And, he did.

But it got done.

Finally.

The SLC did that. I'm sure Harrington was another pushing for it.

Division Champs are guaranteed the 1 and 2 seeds regardless of record. 3-10 is based on conference record, not divisions.

In other words, If Coastal goes 22-8 in league play, South Goes 20-10 and the Cajuns go 19-11, Cajuns would be the 2 seed over South because they won their division.

As our coach put it in an Interview Wednesday, the idea is to offer a good incentive to win your division, while at the same time protecting the top seeds by giving them a potentially easier first round game against the #2 starter of a bottom seed. The idea being the league wants at least 3 teams in the NCAA every year. and the coaches feel offering some protection to the top 6 helps, while inviting the 9th and 10th place teams gives more incentive for the teams at the bottom to play it out hard and not just give in down the stretch.

Had we not done this, we'd be facing the very real possibility this year that multiple SBC teams enter the last couple weekends completely out of the SBC tourney race, and no longer playing hard potentially. Since the last week is always rivalry week, the nature of the SBC's designated rivals leaves us without a lot of top matchups that week usually.
