As long as it transfers from the weight room to the basketball court during games.

Tosin had serious fouling issues last year. Hopefully reducing those will be a point of emphasis for him this season.

All the muscle in the world won't do a bit of good if you're sitting on the bench with two or three early fouls.

I love our front court though.

Or if you can't handle a pass under the basket

Only played the first few minutes today & took it to the bench wth jersey off. I wonder if he's nursing any injury....anyone?

I don't think he played at all, even though he did warm up...

Tosin was very active especially on defense two years ago. He was blocking shots and then twisted an ankle near end of season. I feel like he never regained that explosive jumping ability for remainder of that season and last season too.
I hope the weight room helps his game. But would hope he can regain that form he showed after Christmas two years ago prior to ankle injury.

Before my scrimmage review was fitted for concrete boots and thrown over board there was a section in reference to Tosin. HCRE is very high on him this year. Says he is bringing a physicality that is unmatched by anyone else on the team. I don't think we'll ever see Tosin be a consistent offensive threat but we should expect him to be back to his ways of two seasons ago.

Did you ask HCRE about any recruiting updates? I know he can't speak of specifics, but any news would be appreciated.

While I'm glad that he's added so much muscle and appears that he'll be an enforcer for us down low, the biggest thing holding Mehinti back is his ability to catch passes in the post. He's already shown he can be a good rebounder and shot blocker. He is also decent at scoring in the post, if he can actually handle the entry pass. However, he has hands of absolute stone. If he can't correct that, his value will remain somewhat limited in my mind (he's a good, but not elite rebounder and shot blocker - we already have baxter who is very limited scoring wise). If he can improve on that, he will give our team an element that's really been missing, as our other big men aren't true, traditional back to the basket guys.

Bryant and Gueye make for a very solid first year early period for Ehsan. Hollingsworth would be the icing on the cake especially now that WKU is involved.

I know it's tough by I strongly recommend forgetting about what has happened in the past month in recruiting.

We got commitments from players that we have been prioritizing since the spring. Sure neither were the high profile of some of the ones we lost but we wanted them nonetheless.

We beat out Clemson and Georgia for Bryant and DePaul and Rutgers for Gueye. These are the type of teams we need to be consistently beating out. Every once in a while we'll land the big fish.

Good points there Gold.

I'd rather be beating those guys for players than Savannah State and Eastern Kentucky.

Sometimes they slip thought cracks but yea that's the competition we should be going up against.

We need to help coach out and put butts in the seats and not just for big games.
