Brain dead article probably written by 11th grader. 03-banghead

When the MAC (NIU to be exact) had an excellent team it went to the Orange Bowl.

Now the MAC HAS to fend off Boise, Houston, etc. for the major bowl and that is fair enough. Why should a MAC team be considered better than say Houston given their recent success?

MAC has an excellent team every few years. It is not a powerhouse conference. Teams like NIU and WMU are the exception, not the rule.

"How can we change this?

Schedule more MAC vs. Goliath bowl games. I don’t know how to achieve this, but your local AD probably does. I say rally a dozen or so of your friends, paint your faces with the team colors, and do a sit-in in his office. Colleges these days are very fond of protests."

Sure, folks in Nebraska are clamoring to play Toledo or CMU or maybe Ohio (if the are the MACC loser). Right...

Since 2005, the MAC is 15-35 in bowl games. I don't think we should be complaining about anyone we play.

As emu steve just said, why do they want to play us? As a CMU fan I get angry when we play another G5....and that is completely unfair. The MAC is not a good conference at all. We have a few good teams, some average teams, and the bottom is absolute garbage. We need to make noise and consistently win bowl games along with beating big teams. CMU beating Purdue, Ohio beating Kansas, BSU beating Indiana, or WMU beating Illinois should not be considered a big win. Sadly, it is.

Right on the mark on all counts.
