Good friend of mine & large doner to the program is sitting down the 1st base line just past 1st base 1st row... seen him a ton early on here. He's getting more face time than the players! ?

Yup-yup.... this non-hitting stuff is getting OLD... especiallly against Hill!? WTH is that about... slow down the "kill it" swing and slap the ball around... same recipie that Diamondbacks shelled him with against us in '07.

Must've been "Jake.... from State Farm" pitching tonight for us... instead of the Bearded bad-ass..... something definitely wrong with him last 1.5 months... why else make him game 3 starter.

Maddon manages these crucial games like they are regular season games. No urgency. It drives me crazy. Arrieta hasn't been worth a crap since the All-Star break, yet he's still in the game all the way in the sixth to give up another run.

I don't understand that - but what is completely impossible to understand is the absence of Contreras from the lineup. The Cubs only have three guys hitting: Bryant, Baez, and Contreras. How in the world are you going to not play one of those three?

The huge pinch hit home run was amazing, but Montero has no business starting over Contreras when you aren't scoring runs. For that matter, I'd have him playing over Soler in the outfield if you feel the need to catch Montero to help Arrieta.

Look, for the second year in the row Rizzo is a no show in the playoffs, I don't think Russell has had a hit since August, and Soler/Hayward both had poor seasons at the plate. Zobrist has been fairly cold in the second half and quiet in these playoffs, so if you throw Montero or Ross into the lineup, you have five position players that are practically automatic outs. There is NO WAY you can leave Contreras out of your lineup.

I'm oddly disappointed that I can't find the guy with the Tshirt...

hmmm...maybe we can get a rich alum who is the "marlins man" for NIU. wears only the Presbyterian game day shirt, and sits behind home plate for every major baseball game (and other major sporting events)
