Man, that was a close call! We almost lost the Civil ConFLiCT! It would have been a shame if this amazing trophy (with its beautiful Casio clock) was relegated to the dust bin of history. Thanks, Big 12, for preserving the "GRIAOS" (greatest rivalry in all of sport)!!!

As forced as it may seem, I think it has the requisite quirkiness that all trophy games should possess. Diaco is a misunderstood genius.

I'll be there this weekend. My sister went to the Red River Rivalry game a couple weeks ago. We're gonna compare notes, but I like our chances.

The cool thing about Civil Conflict is the awkwardness of it. Connecticut and Florida are worlds apart and this bodacious trophy is a celebration of those differences.

There is a reason people enjoy talking about it. Diaco struck a chord. This could easily become the premier game in the East for many years.

I love Diaco, but we need to win this week. My love for him will be back next week.

Yes! I am glad that someone else gets why this rivalry is enjoyable. It is made up, totally awkward, and the trophy stinks. Yet, the ConFLiCT is fun and it actually does garner more media attention for both schools than it would if this whole rivalry wasn't concocted in Diaco's basement.

I'd be up for that. We have had several good games over the past few years, but imagine the excitement of taking home the yeller rutabaga.
