Man, that was a close call! We almost lost the Civil ConFLiCT! It would have been a shame if this amazing trophy (with its beautiful Casio clock) was relegated to the dust bin of history. Thanks, Big 12, for preserving the "GRIAOS" (greatest rivalry in all of sport)!!!

You are correct. It technically isn't. However, don't you think that the winning team should get the clock for the year as well to go with the trophy? LOL

lol. I do think the clock makes for a great ensemble.

I votes yes

As forced as it may seem, I think it has the requisite quirkiness that all trophy games should possess. Diaco is a misunderstood genius.

If I'm UCF and I win this weekend I break that stupid trophy in half right after the game.

I'll be there this weekend. My sister went to the Red River Rivalry game a couple weeks ago. We're gonna compare notes, but I like our chances.

I love the civil conflict. For USF it's like a trophy of the top two teams that we make our Biatch each year! 05-stirthepot 03-lmfao

Diaco refuses to talk Civil Conflict any more: “I’ve had enough of that conversation externally.”

That's ridiculous

Also, if we win and they don't bring out that bowling trophy, I hope we have one made that is even more over the top in it's ridiculousness.

So many people miss the point.

The cool thing about Civil Conflict is the awkwardness of it. Connecticut and Florida are worlds apart and this bodacious trophy is a celebration of those differences.

There is a reason people enjoy talking about it. Diaco struck a chord. This could easily become the premier game in the East for many years.

Yes! I am glad that someone else gets why this rivalry is enjoyable. It is made up, totally awkward, and the trophy stinks. Yet, the ConFLiCT is fun and it actually does garner more media attention for both schools than it would if this whole rivalry wasn't concocted in Diaco's basement.

I've come full circle. This is the kinda stupid shite that makes college football fun.

We should play Temple for the yeller rutabega trophy.

I'd be up for that. We have had several good games over the past few years, but imagine the excitement of taking home the yeller rutabaga.
