My guess here:

Big Ten adds Oklahoma and Kansas
Texas goes independent, ND style scheduling agreement with Big 12
SEC, ACC, and Pac12 stand pat
Big 12 back fills with BYU, Boise, and Houston.
Rice to AAC, NMSU to CUSA

I agree. I have a hard time seeing any conference other than the Pac 12 making a serious expansion effort. That is where the action will be, if any.

One thing about SEC adding OU: it would be yet another high level football program, to add to the "beating each other up" effect. Although Alabama has been mostly able to escape that as of late by simply going to the next level that no one can reach.

And exactly why adding Rutgers and Maryland was such a smart move by the Big Ten. Added a lot of cable subscribers, big schools, while providing conf wins to Michigan, Ohio St, Penn St, etc. Not sure if there is an equivalent type add available in the south?? Something like an NC State?

Texas - negotiates a deal with the Big XII similar to Notre Dame's with the ACC.

Oklahoma and West Virginia - SEC

Big XII (adds three to get back to 10 - no reason for non-power conferences to have 12 members any more)

Baylor
Cincinnati
Houston
Iowa State
Kansas
Kansas State
Memphis
Oklahoma State
TCU
Texas Tech

AAC (adds one to get to 10 - no reason for non-power conferences to have 12 members any more)

Central Florida
Connecticut
East Carolina
Navy (football only)
South Florida
SMU
Rice
Temple
Tulane
Tulsa

C-USA +1 Sun Belt to even divisions

Sun Belt +1 FCS call-up to get back to 10.

ACC, B1G, MAC, MWC, Pac-12, Army and BYU stand pat

Among the P5 it is the PAC that has the most room to grow. If it's important to state leaders that sibling schools remain together, that's the place to look first. Maybe we will see something like...

PAC expands to 16 with
- Texas Tech and Texas
- OK State and Oklahoma

This fits in well with the PAC's long-running 2-by-2 approach.

B1G can expand to 16 if it wants with
- Kansas
- Iowa State or a poached Missouri

The SEC and ACC don't need to add anyone from schools remaining.

5 or 6 schools from a dying 2+8 conference finding P5 homes? That's not a bad outcome.
