TV didn't want to pay the money they were contracted to pay if the conference expanded so they found a solution that works for both parties.

I'd like to think our people saw the writing on the wall and decided to withdraw from the process to save the embarrassment of being part of this whole debacle.

Nah, they had to have 8 out of the 10 presidents agree before a team got in. Even if one team got 8 votes they aren't going to just take one team.

Also, if a party really wanted to be a stickler, it would depend on the NDA language. If there is no limitation in time, abd there is no verbal or written release,a party could contend that expansion is still in discussion, forever, even after dozens of pressers saying no one is being admitted. Does it say October, 2016? Calendar year 2016? Regular season 2016? End of 2016 season?

The Big XII is one f**ked up conference. Outside the payout their schools get, the conference as a whole sucks a big one. I'm sure the college football fans across the nation hold their breath in anticipation for a Iowa St./Kansas matchup, or anyone else in that league not named Oklahoma or Texas. Looks like Nebraska, Missouri, Texas A&M and Colorado new what they were doing by telling the Big XII to f**k off. Time to make the AAC the best that it can be....GO TIGERS!

From what I read of the FOIA'd NDA, there didn't appear to be any end date on it. It even specifically mentioned that neither side could say anything about what happened even afterwards (which is foolish when you consider that the Big 12 HAS to announce the end result.)

Perhaps all of the 'candidates' should get together and sue the Big XII for the expenses and PR damage the expansion debacle has inflicted on these universities. One good embarrassment deserves another.
