RE: BYUtv covering the Big 12 press conference live
If I were any schools outside of the Big 12? Let the Big 12 play with themselves, and exclude them from the NCAA period.

That's fine until you have to pay the bills.

AAA,
The Big 8 (chicken-s__t) schools blackballed Houston after the TX Gov announced they had to be included. That killed it, as Texas, Tech, and another loyal to Texas blocked all expansion that excluded them. That's why it was fast and why Texas and Tech ADs hightailed it out of there. They tried to change their minds for six hours, but TX bloc wouldn't budge.

And UT knew that would happen. UH's success and the plausibility of UH's candidacy gave UT an opening. That's why UT flipped to pro-expansion surprising everyone in July. UT will have used this ploy (knowing it would never pass) to get what they want, and this was the play from day one. UT never goes to a negotiation without creating a scenario that scares everyone into taking the lesser evil (see PAC16 and LHN). This is their MO and they play it perfectly.

FSU* or Clemson* would have been welcomed with open arms but we are chicken-s__t because we don't add a university in a city that we already get paid for and would be a nuisance recruiting against? Why would you want to deal with a nuisance if you don't have to? I ponder why we even entertained them to begin with. *(Granted FSU and Clemson would be nuts to leave the ACC)*

Enjoy the AAC in 8 years - if the governor hasn't sold off the school by then, of course!

What the hell were they thinking.
That's as crazy as starting a thread saying "Congrats BYU and UC" when they weren't even invited to join the Big XII.

Word had basically leaked out by the press conference that they weren't expanding. The press conference was going to overlap with a rebroadcast of the morning's BYU Sports Nation TV show so they instead did a live show talking about the rumors, carried the first part of the press conference, and then cut away to some brief reactions when the Q&A portion started before moving on to the regularly scheduled BYUtv programming.
The sports nation guys' reaction to Boren and Bowlsby's comments was pretty funny and mirrors much of what was being said by other media outlets.
