Rating the AAC's Won/Lost Recent Performance
Sporting News Magazine keeps a 5 Year total of wins/losses and it's pretty enlightening as to how a basketball program's recent success is trending. Its a bit flawed since there is no "strength of schedule" involved, but at least it gives us an idea of how the program is doing. So what I did was add up the total wins over that period and compare to the other programs in the AAC.
Team-----------------Total Wins over 5 years
Cincinnati---------------------120
Memphis----------------------118
UCONN------------------------117
SMU---------------------------107
Temple------------------------104
Tulsa---------------------------99
Houston------------------------87
ECU----------------------------81
UCF and Tulane-----------------79
USF----------------------------63
Here is another stat that is revealing. Last year playing in the NCAA Torunament. *Note SMU was on probation and wasn't allowed any post season play in 2016*.
