Hartford,

Thanks!

Not much I can do to apologize for/explain away Shanks' comments. It seems clear that FOX isn't interested in paying more money for more inventory that includes any of the known candidates. Even though games like BYU/Houston vs OU, Texas, etc. are worth just as much to FOX in terms of viewers as most of the other Big 12 conf games ...

If they truly cared about preserving the conference long term Houston, Cincinnati, UCF, and USF should all be added.

But, IMO, they don't so they won't add anyone.

Getting more money to split among fewer teams is the only way the B12 can appear to still be financially competitive with the P4 conferences after the next few years of revenue increases theyre all about to get. IOW they're betting the farm on keeping the conference together long enough for OU/UT to "be back" in the hopes that wins will quiet their discontent and that they will want to extend the GOR and stay in "the easiest path" conference

10th,

With the money they already get + CCG + pro-rata ... they'd still be competitive with at least the ACC on primary rights. Then Texas is competitive with anyone in the country when you throw in secondary rights. Maybe OU too.
