Helped at least in part by the fact they've played Rice.

My thoughts exactly.
This program is a travesty. Bailiff shouldn't have been kept around for even two years, let alone ten. We're getting exactly what we deserve.
I'm pretty confident in stating that this is the worst team Rice has ever had. And considering our recent history in football, that is really saying something.

Massey has us at 127. Sagarin at 143. I expect we will be last in the Bottom 10/25 polls that come out this week.

I'm surprised we're even that high. I know of several teams in the FCS that would give us an absolute hiding. Here's to hoping that PVA&M isn't also in that group.

Losing to PV aTm should trigger a payout back to Brian Patterson followed by us calling in an airstrike to level HRS.
But seriously, we lose, we should shut up shop permanently.

FTR, I think that UTEP is actually worse than Rice. Which is rather mind-blowing...

I don't know. UTEP beat 2 win NM State.
We'll find out more this week as UTEP plays UTSA.

A Few More Claps should do it. Remember, "we're not a bad football team." Unless he screws the pooch this week against powerhouse PVAMU. "That's a good football team."

This was my favorite quote from this week's list:
"6. UMess (1-6)
In the time it takes you to read this sentence, Louisiana Tech wide receiver Carlos Henderson will have most likely broken free for another touchdown reception of 40-plus yards."
The Guy You Should Know About, But Probably Don't: Carlos Henderson, WR, Louisiana Tech. Against UMass he caught a dozen passes for 326 yards and five TDs. That's a yards per catch average of 27.2! The past two weeks he has racked up 558 yards receiving.
See ya in two weeks, La Tech. Enjoy our secondary!

That's one thing I noticed while compiling the performance ratings for this week. In fact, by mean power rating adjusted for homefield advantage, the Owls have played the toughest schedule in Conference USA. That's still not very tough (it would be equivalent to playing the 89th-ranked team in Massey's system every game), but the schedule does lighten up considerably in the second half of the season (Massey ranks it 126th), which is how Rice, as bad as it's been this season, still might win three or four games by season's end.

Sorry to keep pickin' on them, but they also had my favorite quote in this week's CBS Bottom 25:
"10. Massachusetts, 1-6 (18): We're looking at a contender here. Outside of its game against Wagner, I'm not sure there are any wins left on this schedule -- and that Wagner win won't do much of anything."
