RE: Jill Stein to Progressive: "Don't Waste Your Votes on Corporate Democrats"
I disagree with Stein on everything, but at least she is a true progressive. If the Bernie bros have any semblance of a spine, they will vote for her and not Hillary.
She also said that Trump would be better than Hillary, because Hillary will try to start WW3 with Russia.

Same for me. I respect her for being true to her ideology/beliefs. I disagree with her as a libertarian, but support her work to bring 3rd parties to this nation. And she is absolutely right that Hillary poses a much greater danger to drag us into war with Russia.

War with Russia will not happen. Russia is outmanned and outmatched. They'll continue to push the boundaries, but they know war would be suicide. Once crushed, it would open the door for China to pick off parts of eastern Russia that are resource rich and once belonged to the Chinese.

Does LazyTom know you're trying to take his spot as the board foreign policy expert?

It's not being an expert, it's common sense. Putin is smart. He knows he can't win a war against the us and our European allies. Russia has a relatively small population and no reliable, well armed allies. There is no winning strategy for him in all out war.
He also knows we are soft and won't strike him for micro aggressions in non allied countries. He'll keep taking what we give him as long as all we give him is a finger wag.

LOL. I actually welcome people discussing foreign policy and affairs here.

It would be suicide for us all if war broke out with Russia. And I am not worried about them starting it...

The only thing Putin understands is massive pushback. Violate Baltic airspace? Shoot the plane down. Russia wants to escalate? Close road routes to Kaliningrad.
If Putin wants to bully us, then it's going to be war. HRC ain't gonna play with Putin. Nor should she.

You seem to be ignoring how Obama has somehow managed to push Russia and China into a scary alliance (which still holds well over $1 trillion in US debt).

It's a weak alliance at best. The Chinese economy is so dependent on the U.S. market that they would have to be pushed very far to make any real threats against the U.S.
Chinese billionaires have a lot of influence in their homeland. They're not going to let politics get in the way of their bank accounts.
Obama hasn't handled Russia well, I'll give you that, but they're still not a real threat to the U.S. if I were an Eastern European nation id be mildly concerned by Russia, but they have no path to victory against us.

If the US wants to poke Putin in the eye, approve TPP. That will do more to undermine Putin's dream of a Russian/Asian hegemony than any non-nuclear weapon.
RE: Jill Stein to Progressive: "Don't Waste Your Votes on Corporate Democrats"
I was a big Bernie bro and I'm not going to let the perfect be the enemy of the good like Nader voters in Florida did in 2000 which welcomed Bush who drove this country into the ditch. For all the distractions this campaign season, the average American is served much better with Hillary than Trump, whose tax plans will just make the rich richer. Yeah you can argue that we can't trust her on TPP, but why exactly should we trust Trump? He's outsourced jobs to China, and it's in his own personal business interests for TPP to pass. TPP won't affect the Clinton's bottom line at all.
I also disagree about her Russia comments (which aren't surprising given she knows she'll only pull votes away from Hillary). Trump is the one promoting instability by apologizing for Putin, publicly wavering on our NATO commitments and promoting nuclear proliferation. That's not promoting peace, it's emboldening him to push the boundaries.

HoD,
All politicians are liars. All claim they'll do X, and then never do that.
The idea that Trump would somehow be different is simultaneously both the most misguided hope in the last 50 years of presidential elections and biggest delusion perhaps ever.

Yep.
In some cases, such as Obama, we are all better off that they don't do what they said they were going to do.

Why should America pay for Europe's defenses? Is Eastern Europe really worth the billions of dollars spent on it?
RE: Jill Stein to Progressive: "Don't Waste Your Votes on Corporate Democrats"
Jill makes some good points and if by voting for her I wouldn't be throwing away my vote she'd have it. A vote for Jill or Garry is a vote against Trump.
