RB-hard to grade when you're starter is out for the season.
OL you gave them an A I would for pass protection but they have alot to do with our ability to run the ball, also many defenses stack against us running
QB-Porter deserves better than a C- one bad game but what about the ones he won? Roback gets a B+ for one game.
CB/DB-really do you factor in the fact that we've had 3 true frosh rotating back there? Calhoun, Phelps and McGill and R Davis all have bright futures ahead of them.

Only a B for Neathery? Considering how atrocious our defense was last year, he deserves an A. What a huge turnaround for that entire unit. I know it starts with getting POC and Harris back, but everyone else seems to be playing at a higher level as well.

I agree.

Neathery is a miracle worker. Sure POC is an impact defender but the defense from front to back seem so much sounder, etc.

Rarely does this defense get gashed for those 30, 40, 50, 60 yard runs.

I'm wondering if it is the schemes, etc. and the players are doing very well with them.

Exactly! I told everyone what a difference this defensive staff was going to make from day 1. It's everything, including scheme, attitude, coaching ability, preparation, etc.etc.

Based on EMU history, EVERYONE (offense, defense, coaches, etc.) deserves an:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ at this point.

They just won their 3rd consecutive road game for the 1st time in.......

49 frickin' years people!

Enjoy the ride.

BTW, EagleTough:

Lest anyone been on another planet for two years -

Against BG and Ohio, Neathery's defense gave up 10 points during the two first halves.

Compare that to the first halves of two EMU games in 2015. We might be talking 10 points vs. 50 points.

There is a movie about the miracle on the Hudson. This year is getting to be the miracle on the Huron. :)

Coaching makes all the difference in the MAC (and recruiting)

Creighton knows exactly how important Neathery is to this team, and his personal future. Give Creighton credit for making the change from McCaslin, now the real job begins, keeping this staff together for the next few years.

(AND REALLY FOCUSING ON IMPROVING THE RECRUITING)

Do those 2 things, and competing for a MAC championship is a real possibility.

Agree 1,000%.

MAC is known as a coaches' conference (FB and basketball). This isn't a conference full of 4 and 5 star recruits.
