I feel like we are trying to force the lynch offense onto the team, but we dont have the pieces to do it nor the correct coaching calls to run it properly.

Maddie is a runner so I'm not opposed to calling keeps and draws for him, but I seem to remember Doeren and Kill's offenses being much more clever than this. You always felt like you had a shot with those teams, whether it was 3rd and 1 or 3rd and 20. Now we might as well punt on a 1st and 10.

Sorry, but you do not keep running Maddie up the middle for 1 yard games repeatedly. It was not working. Those calls were beyond stupid.

We should all send CMU a thank you letter for trying to hand us the game. But, even when they gift wrapped it and placed it on a silver platter we refused to take it.

I'm just saying I'm not opposed to running him in general since, you know, that is his strength. Not that constantly pounding him up the middle is a good idea.

Once again the play calling was bad. Golladay was one on one most of the time but we didn't go deep to him at all. Maddie makes some mistakes but it seems the coaches are confident in his passing or decisions because they take the deep balls away from him.

I thought we'd learned something against Ball State, that Maddie could throw the ball up to Golladay and he would make a play. Now we're back to ignoring that option. Instead we throw the ball up to Blake or somebody else that's not very big, or throw the ball to big, slow guys on the perimeter.

How many times was Golladay even targeted this game? Maybe it was the redbull and vodkas, but it seemed ridiculously low to me.

think its the opposite. when this team plays up tempo in time crunches they look good.

when they don't, its bubble screen, send Bougnon up the middle and then a dropped pass. the thing that floors me is that the team sets at the line for the snap and then all looks up to the sideline.

... and the fake field goal in the first quarter. the hell? we broadcast as we lined up. 03-hissyfit

burn it all down.

Maddie didn't see Kenny wide open on a few plays. That would have changed the game by a lot. But the coulda woulda shoulda game doesn't work.

The team looks and plays like ****. That falls on the coaches. Lots of stuff they looked like they didn't prep for and the fake was horrible call at the start of the game.

Burn, shed destroy an offense that put up 339, 484, 653 and 552 yards the past 4 weeks? OK, good luck with that.

True but we are not so great in the red zone

You are both right. Even Carey said we are moving the ball but not converting in the red zone.

I know ZERO about football plays and even I can see that trying to run Maddie up the middle is idiotic. The guy is not Jordan Lynch - I said that at the game yesterday. Jordan could use his strength & truck right over the defense - Maddie can not. I don't get why we waste a down every possession trying the "Maddie up the middle" crap! 03-banghead

It's water under the bridge and a minor point to make, but I bet Maddie would love to have his buddie Beebe to throw to when things get tight. I'd guess they have good synchronization from their HS days

RE: Burn, shred, destroy this offensive scheme
We have gotten good yards in every game but we still aren't scoring and bigger problem, we aren't winning. My main complaint is not utilizing our weapons correctly. Golladay and Huff are not being used to their potential and it costs us games. 4th down trick plays and te passes when you have a great receiver have me scratching my head. I hope Golladay goes on to the NFL and has a great career but I will then wonder what he could have been here. Our fan base is very fair weather and decreasing with this regime. I've noticed even a decrease in people on this blog. Pretty soon the stands will be empty as well.

I think our D got a huge break with the wind. A calm day and Rush throws for 400 yards.

With Smalls, Brooks and Lurry out, we basically had our 4th and 5th string corners going against an NFL QB. Thought they did pretty good all in all.
