I give them credit for never giving up . . . . If this had been last year's Fran team, they'd have folded up at the half and gone through the motions in the 3rd and 4th quarter.

If Withers can get that kind of fight out of these guys the rest of the year, and then recruit some talent this off-season, it bodes well for the future . . .

Good game Bobcats. We tried everything to give you guys the game. Started playing not to lose WAY to early. Your team fights to the end and that will pay off. Trust me, we feel your pain. We are 5 points from being 4-2 and 3-0. Both of us have young teams.

Was out of town and tried to watch a little bit on my phone, but didn't want to use all of my data. I like Withers and everything but as bad as we were last year, we still held ULM to like 13 points. Have they gotten that much better on offense? Or has our defense got even worse with all the departures?

Good game though ULM. From what little I saw, your backup QB looked pretty good. I hope for both of our sakes that you guys continue to get better!

Our defense is worse, in a way. Except for McClarty, we have a DLine full of former LBs and several the rest of the other starters are in new positions. We also lost Anyama for the year and we also had 2 starters out on concussion protocol this week.

An opinion I have is that while it may be a great concept for Withers that every week is a competition for the starting role, it doesn't allow for the #1 unit to become cohesive. Knowing each other's strengths and weaknesses.

We have a lot less talent on both sides of the ball as last year. ULM also has gotten way better at offense. After Browning graduated, they had no way to move the ball.

Just thought I'd throw out what has been going on on Twitter this week, after last weeks game.

1. TXST was, apparently, not happy about the call on the onside kick and sent it to the SBC office

2. The head of SBC refs said TXST was right, that the onside was not illegally touched and it went the 10 yards.
(like this makes a heck of a lot of difference after the fact and this is kind of unverified)

4. SBC office reprimanded Withers for being vocal about it.

5. 20 football related complaints have been filed with SBC office since joining the SBC in 2013. 75% of those calls were deemed wrong by officials and complaint validated.

In regards to MLRT. #TXST has sent in around 20 calls to the Sun Belt and 15-16 have returned as incorrectly called.


I know it has happened to every team and this is just another validation of how crappy the SBC crews are.
