Is getting an invite to the CBI, CIT or Vegas 16 any better? In the case of the CBI you don't even need a .500 record and can be invited over teams win better records.
No it isn't, and I don't like those tourneys either other than the fact that we get extra practice (just like a bowl game). Do you like the bowl games for .500 teams?
The bowl games are as much for the players as it is the fans. Even a crappy bowl is a great (life/football) experience for these guys. You only go round once as they say.

Also, like the bowl games, or not, for a football program to get bowl invites is a big plus both in terms of outside perception, and more importantly on recruiting. I believe all of that is even more beneficial to a fledgling program such as ours.
