Not that a division title is within the realm of reasonable possibility, but it just goes to show how bad the East is.
Akron and Ohio both have to lose twice.
Point is that the East is bad, not that Miami is heading to Detroit anytime soon.

But if EMU had been moved to the EAST division, EMU and WMU could play next Saturday in a MACC preview game.
"Just saying".
Can we borrow Creighton when you're done with him?

I don't even want to see the bloodbath that will happen when the Bulls travel to Kalamazoo in a couple of weeks.

Hard to gauge how the Bulls 1st team will do against WMU compared to the Zips 2nd and 3rd stringers. I don't think we have more than 5 starters left on either side of the ball.

Solich and Bowden are decent.
Buffalo is a Northeast G5 program. G5 programs in the NE don't have a great track record.
Kent State doesn't invest in coaches.
Bowling Green has a new coach in Jinks. The jury is still out.
Miami should be a lot better than what they are given they can recruit Chicago more easily than the other MAC schools.
Some of it is scheduling. Ohio schedules itself more wins. BG played Ohio State and Kent State Alabama to open the season. That has disaster written all over it. Miami always has a challenging non-conference with Cincinnati part of it.

Maybe I am too hard on the East, but you are right about the makeup in the East at the moment, but Miami, being a rare breed as an Public Ivy has a major advantage in recruiting in that Area, but it has not shown itself for some strange reason....

RE: Week 7 Action
I think we can now officially say EMU is a good MAC team.
Yay for Miami!!!! I like seeing you guys do well because you were winless when we were 1-11 - we turned it around but you still haven't, so it's nice to see you get a win!
I can't figure Ball St out. One game they lose to NIU, the next they beat UB. if you're bad, lose. If you're good, win. You can't do both!!

We suck at B-Ball,but FOOTBALL we are kings!!!!
Eh, with Ball St and NIU getting better, I think b-ball has been more even the past couple seasons.

Academics don't have much to do with it otherwise Tulane would have a great team.

It can help in non-revenue sports, since some prospects will be attracted if they think the degree carries more cachet.
In BBall or FB, it is either a non-factor or else a hindrance, depending in part on whether a relatively easier major is available or can be crafted for the less academically gifted athletes.
