Not a good regular season, but could be a good year, depending on how far you go in the playoffs. I'd take for example 7-4 regular season and going 3-1 in the playoffs, losing in the semis to finish 10-5 (UNH 2013) over 9-2 regular season and going 0-1 in the playoffs, losing in the round of 16 or 24, to finish 9-3..
A 7-4 team is not getting to the Semifinals. They are likely 1-1 in the playoffs if they get a favorable first round matchup.

Its not likely a 7-4 would make the semis, but New Hampshire 3 years ago (1st year of 24 teams field) went 7-4 then 3-1 in the playoffs, making the semis.
In 2009 (last year of the 16 team field) VU went 7-4 then 2-1 in the playoffs, making the semis (yeah I know the CAA was better then)..
