Darrell Henderson.....Best back since DeAngelo?
I know it's only been a few games but this guy is a beast. Especially in the open field. Hope he stays healthy because he could go down as one or the all time Tiger greats....Discuss.

RE: Darrell Henderson.....Best back since DeAngelo?
Last year, a lot of people were comparing Jam Henderson to DeAngelo.

One thing is for sure. Darrell Henderson has speed on his side which he showed several times. That cut he made last night where the tulane defensive back slid down trying to change directions cracked me up. I hope he will play out his entire career as a memphis tiger.

He has the tools to be. He is a playmaker unlike I've seen at Memphis since DeAngelo. Now I won't go comparing him to 20, but this kid is someone to keep an eye on.

The difference with Jam Henderson was that he too was undersized but didn't have the 4.3 speed that Darrell has. Jam ran like a powerback, which never would have held up at his size. He'd have gotten hurt.

Darrell is small but his playmaking ability comes from speed and agility. Hopefully he can avoid injury.

Curtis Steele was the best I recall since DW (perhaps I forgotten someone). I've been waiting to see DH since the previous staff was recruiting him at S. Panola. I haven't seen enough of him yet but like what I see. DW was better as frosh though. DW had great vision, patience, balance, a burst, and the ability to put all those attributes together. I am excited to see more from DH in the future.

Jamarious Henderson was a nice back but wasn't particularly fast. More powerful, good vision, and good lateral movement. He knew how to play to his strengths. Just my thoughts.

fyi... I know the OP wasn't comparing DW to DH

DeAngelo was the best back we've ever had, his main skill was he could hit the hole quick, I don't think u teach that skill. Couple the quick he with his speed and open field running anybody who is a close second is one hell, of a back BTW the Dude was a great receiver and blocker. He still has these skills today, just a half step slower hitting the hole

The two Henderson's would have complimented each other nicely for years. I don't think Jamarius made a good decision to transfer if the NFL is his goal because we get plenty of national TV time.

He's going to special. I still can't believe he's just a freshman. We're gonna have quite the team in the coming years.

True

Know someone in that business and they do their homework & log a TON of air miles. If Sunday play is your goal and you have a shot then they will find you.

RE: Darrell Henderson.....Best back since DeAngelo?
DeAngelo is the best I have ever seen in accelerating and getting around the corner. Defenders would think they had the angle on him, then he would hit the jets and leave them in the dust.

Henderson is very, very fast in the open field. He has the chance to be very special. Looking forward to watching him mature as a back. He has the raw tools.
