Well, thought I'd start a thread about the all important non-conference games. We have seen in the past how this can be a significant factor which impacts the pairwise rankings. After week one, NCHC is off to a pretty good start:

Not that I'm trying to defend Brovol, nor do I agree with him, but I do understand his thinking.

If the season was to end today, this would be the bid allocation (assuming no upsets in conference tournaments):

NCHC-4
HE-4
WCHA-2
BIG-2
ECAC-2
AHA-2

But this will change as the season progresses.

17 teams! The tournament doesn't need a play-in game. WCHA only has 2 teams in the October 16, 2016 tournament, not 3.
