Bowl Projections
As the first few teams clinch bowl games, and MAC teams begin to show how good (or how bad) they are this year, I thought we should have a post on early bowl projections.

Here's CBS Sport's:
http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball...redictions
Ohio St in the playoff

Michigan vs Stanford in the Rose Bowl

Houston vs Tennessee in the Cotton Bowl

Akron vs Georgia Southern in the Camellia Bowl
Temple vs Central Michigan in the Miami Beach Bowl
Louisiana Tech vs Ohio in the Bahamas Bowl
Western Michigan vs Appalachian St in the Dollar General Bowl
South Florida vs Ball St in the St Petersburg Bowl
Toledo vs Nevada in the Potato Bowl

RE: Bowl Projections
That bowl lineup isn't correct.

From the MAC website

1. National Championship Game
2. Cotton Bowl
3. Quick Lane Bowl
4. St. Petersburg Bowl
5. Dollar General Bowl
6. Bahamas Bowl
7. Idaho Potato Bowl
8. Poinsettia Bowl
9. Boca Raton Bowl
10. Miami Beach Bowl
11. Camellia Bowl

http://mac-sports.com/sports/2014/8/20/F...h=football

So it looks like everyone but Miami will find itself in a bowl game this year.

A win over Ohio this weekend would be huge.

Lot of season to be played! Several winnable games for EMU too!

RE: Bowl Projections
This is what FB Schedules has:

Camellia Bowl (MAC vs. SBC)
Miami Beach (MAC vs. AAC)
Idaho Potato (MAC vs. MWC)
Bahamas Bowl (MAC? vs. AAC? vs. CUSA?)
Dollar General (MAC vs. SBC)

http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa/college-...hedule.php

The MAC it looks like could deal out the Bahamas Bowl for another game if it wanted to do so.

CUSA has 6 bowl games but with the crappy year they are having maybe they don't fill a couple of games. That could send a MAC school to Hawaii.

Think we need EMU in there with 5 wins with 5 games to go.

After a very, very tough WMU team we host Miami which presumably clinch bowl eligibility.

RE: Bowl Projections
Remember with the new APR rules a school isn't out unless they lose 8 games because some 5-7 teams can get placed.

In
WMU 7-0

Close
Toledo 5-1
CMU 5-2
EMU 5-2

Likely
Ohio 4-3
Akron 4-3
Ball State 4-3

Life Support
Kent State 2-5
Buffalo 1-5
NIU 1-6
Miami 1-6
Bowling Green 1-6

Out of the 7 MAC teams with winning records, the school that has the most chance of being left out of a bowl game is Ball State if they finish 5th in the MAC West.

EMU should be in at 6 wins since they haven't bowled in decades a nice story for the MAC. Miami would then own the conference longest streak without a bowl game (since 2010).

RE: Bowl Projections
EMU has a few 'gimme' games left on the schedule. I could seriously see them getting 7 wins.

Ball St is such a Jekyll/Hyde team. One game they look like they can make a Bowl, the next they don't.

I might not project EMU getting more than 7, but even teams favored going in are going to have to be careful not to pencil in a win against EMU, or they could get caught napping.

After years of seeing the occasional NIU poster go on about how EMU should drop out of the MAC, November 16th will be when I am actually rooting for an EMU win.

#RunItUp for the NIU game.
