Montgomery will be home to a new college football showdown starting in 2017. The game will be called the Montgomery Kickoff Classic and is set for Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017 at historic Cramton Bowl.

They both seem to be going way out of their way to go all the way down to Montgomery.

I think it's great but I find the location weird since both have to go out of their way.

The schools are within 2 1/2 and 3 3/4 hrs...I'm sure the civic leaders are hoping many folks come down and spend an extra day or two checking out Munt-gumree.

Also, the beaches of Florida are only a few hours south of the game so some folks might kill two birds with one stone.

They should easily sell 15k tickets which will make is look successful on the TV for this 21k stadium.

it takes the place of a game already scheduled between us and utc. It could have easily by televised from JSU.
However being televised prime time on espn as the only game on makes up for that. Also it one of 2 kick off games involving Jax St..

As a person who lived in Montgomery for quite a while I can tell you that it is a bit odd.

Montgomery is not a hotbed of Jack State or Chattanooga alums.

It's kind of out of the way for both.

I would have figured Bham would have been a more agreeable location for both but then again all of the new renovations and improvements in Montgomery make it a nicer place to be than Birmingham.

The Gump will be a hellava game day atmosphere for this key matchup.
Cheers!

Who will be future schools in this classic? Montgomery isn't exactly a pleasant locale on a typical August evening.

NDSU fans are livid about this.

Never believe anything he says about NDSU or its fans. He's either got a mental disorder about the topic, or he just chooses to lie like a wet rug.

The most overreaction-prone group of Bison fans you'll find are at the Bisonville messageboard. Here's their thread on the topic. Give it a read(only 26 replies) and see if it fits the definition of "livid".

BV is having a much stronger reaction to the idea of a game at Target Field(MN Twins stadium).

The only reason NDSU's AD is looking into a Target Field game is because the Montgomery Classic effectively shuts NDSU out of the early season game and ESPN.

But that fact seems to be way over your head , so you spout hate, which your fan base is very good at for any one that points out issues..
