The night before, we could not get service in any of those chain restaurants in the convention area, and we got ignored or surly glares by the waitstaffs. Getting a drink was another ordeal. The "bar" at the Marriott where the team stayed....OMG, it was a joke.

The area around the stadium looked like Detroit or bombed-out Beirut. And Legion Field.....I felt like I was at Crump Stadium, but way worse.

No, I NEVER want to return to that forsaken city. It's got more problems than Memphis and none of the upside.

The areas of the state not named Birmingham or Montgomery do not really care for either city.

I was there, too. I liked petting the sting ray in the stadium.

The large, historic pink Vinoy Hotel (the bar!), and the Dali Museum make St. Pete way cool, and that's just the start.

My last thoughts on this sordid matter ~ I will go anywhere that I can with my team and I would be thrilled for a bowl game this year.

My daughter went to Birmingham-Southern, so I am well-acquainted with B'ham. The school was awesome, but she didn't care for the city either. It has no soul, charm, or compassion; it's racist, as its history indicates.

As for Alabama, in toto, after having a beach trip to the Redneck Riviera, aka Mobile (Fort Morgan) last summer because, according to my daughter, you can rent a large house right on the beach much cheaper than in Florida, and dealing with racists who hate Memphis, jellyfish in the water all week, trash of all kinds in the ocean floating by, (potato chip bags, rubber gloves, string), and tar on the beach, I have decided I like nothing about that backwards state, except maybe the Muscle Shoals area. I was even glad to cross the line into Mississippi. That should tell you something.

Most of the state of Tennessee thinks the same way about Memphis...

I kinda like the Miami Beach Bowl.

Early in the bowl season and by itself on a weekday.
Miami is obviously awesome and I have a ton of family in South Florida, so I may go down there if we play this game again.
Baseball park is kinda neat itself.
It's played in front of FISHGOD.
