RE: This Week In Schadenfreude 2016 -- Week 7
Who has the most Schadenfreude?

1) Florida. They lose hosting a home game (and anticipated revenue) to LSU, with the game rescheduled in Baton Rouge. At this juncture they now only have 11 regular season games, miss out on a 99.9% chance of beating Presbyterian, lose the revenue from that game, and has to write a buyout check to the Blue Hose.

2) LSU. Swapping their home game against South Alabama for Florida is probably a financial wash, with a buyout to the Jaguars offset by making more money hosting the Gators. They also currently have one less regular season game which they figured would have been on the winning side of the ledger.

3) South Alabama. The Jaguars have been P5 killers as of late. The players and fans are no doubt disappointed to not have had a chance to beat their most noteworthy opponent yet. They do get buyout money and there is a chance Presbyterian will fill out the schedule with a game in Mobile.

4) Presbyterian. The only real downside would be their players' chance to play in The Swamp. But it would have been highly unlikely they would have been competitive and they do get that buyout coin. Good chance they play a makeup game with South Alabama for their 12th game.

Starting to think that NC State's 4-1 record is no fluke. They battled toe-toe with Notre Dame's athletes last week, and are doing the same to Clemson's right now, and without the aid of a hurricane.

State has a solid team both sides of the ball.

NC State:10
#3 Clemson: 10
10:16 3rd.

Watson with a pick-6 to open the 2nd half, Clemson goes down the field and fumbles near the goal line.

this Clemson/NC St game is huge. Clemson could be in deep trouble if they lose, and NC St beats Louisville and Miami(regardless of FSU) Clemson would need 2 NC State losses at that point to be division champions.

ECU beating them turned their season around and sent us into the crapper...

RE: This Week In Schadenfreude 2016 -- Week 7
I was watching the Maryland-Minnesota game thinking I might finally eat some crow about the length of games. It was just past 12:30, and here we were, actually in the second quarter.

Minnesota scored a touchdown and extra point at 12:40pm, with less than 13 minutes remaining in the quarter. Maryland didn't snap the ball for 1st and 10 until 12:45. A considerable commercial break with local ads. When the game finally went below the 12-minute mark, it was 12:48.

Eight minutes to move the game a minute.

The next commercial break was shorter than the previous one (no local break-out), but ESPN compensated for that by going into a special-interest story about Maryland's uniforms. Yes, the game was paused so ESPN could talk about Under-Armour.

I left to run some errands. I was out for over 45 minutes. When I got back home, I popped on the game. It was exactly 1:45, and third-quarter kick-off was happening right in front of me.

You can't make this game length stuff up. This game is so friggin slow...and it's a terrible run-heavy game. What the heck?

whatever. 11:30 to go in the 4th quarter at 2:30. Not bad.

The ACC officials are helping Clemson in this NC State game. The Wolfpack have 12 penalties against them and Clemson has 0 penalties; even though Clemson has committed two obvious face mask penalties against NC State right in front of the officials. Clemson also lined up offsides on one play, but the officials have not flagged Clemson for anything.

Doesn't really qualify based on the normal rules, but Vandy is leading Georgia 17-16 under 3 minutes to play.
