West Virginia should be 9-0 heading into the Oklahoma game(that they host) on Nov 19. then after Iowa St, they host Baylor on Dec 3.

I see your point, but the sheer facticity of being unbeaten in mid-late October is starting to bear on my mind about them. 07-coffee3

WVU, has beaten Mizzou, BYU, TTU, and KSU. Not bad, I think we will find out if they're for real in the next couple of weeks when they play TCU and Oklahoma St. They are 2 teams with talent who have underwhelmed this year. If they can win then yes I think you have to take them seriously

Pick a few teams from every conference, hype them and hope fiction mirrors reality. ESPN.

Josh Dobbs and Tennessee, chapter 2 of the ESPN book of fairy tales.

Georgia lost to Vandy at homecoming. Big dramatic vols win though, right

ESPN is merely playing to the ignorance of the masses so they can manipulate their perceptions. Get enough people to believe that Miami is actually # 10 and it becomes reality whether it is merited or not. Besides how else can you drive interest in the Canes and Billy Goats?

Georgia lost to Vandy at homecoming. Big dramatic vols win though, right

And Georgia beat North Carolina which beat Florida State which beat Ole Miss who played Bama tough again. So .....are we predicting that Vanderbilt will handle Alabama?

I'm afraid that the total lack of fundamentals coupled with the rules for two hand touch and flag football for actually delivering a blow to a ball carrier, pass receiver, punter, or as I witnessed in one game today a center, have rendered defenses everywhere virtually inept. The wimping of America continues so is it any wonder that Dobbs, a guy with innate, but heretofore undeveloped, talent continues to throw off of his back foot therefore sailing passes that are easily picked off (9 of them in 6 games), gets hyped in a world where idiots and morons are praised for merely showing up to work?

I guess so since the same imbeciles got passing grades for equally poor academic attempts in high school.

You get what you tolerate in life, and we've tolerated the ignorant way too damn long!

That's the media's fault, not Miami's. Not every team is lucky enough to play Indiana or Texas Tech the first game after the media starts hyping them.

yeah I guess what Tennessee did to Virginia Tech was nothing. **** that. I am so sick and tired of folks blaming ESPN for everything. The fact is going into today we had like 11 undefeated teams. There's nothing but mediocre or bad football teams. So guess what- someone has to be in the top 10.

Yeah I agree. I didn't blame Miami. Hell they had Notre dame in the top ten too. It's a farce.

The thing is North Carolina isn't a bad team. They DID beat Florida St. Last week was an anomaly- against a top 25 Virginia Tech team. Lets not act like UNC is a bad team- because they aren't.

Some of the stronger good football teams can't get into a P5 conference to give some of these front runners a run for their money.

I think this viewpoint has great merit. And I think what bothers Sheer is that it is very obvious that ESPN begins to hype schools to be featured at future dates early to gain them rankings which in turn generates advertising revenue. They are merely refining the art of gaming the system for profits. If someone they've hyped is no longer doing well, or no longer on their lineup they brush them off like dust on dungarees.

They invented the Heisman race! It's really horrible that the trophy no longer goes to the nations best offensive player. It's been redefined to a star hyped by ESPN from a team that must be in contention. It's a mockery of the original intent.

The top 5 teams could all be in the sec or the big ten or wherever. The whole contrived marketing part of it pisses me off and sheep just eat it up.

Yeah, the Heisman should have gone to Kellen Moore, Case Keenum, Keenan Reynolds and others were much better players than who ESPN hyped and won the awards. Cam Newton is not that great of a QB, and neither is Johnny football Manziel. Neither was Winston as well.

Flipping the channels, I see New Mexico and Air Force are playing in Dallas right now, and let's just say there are plenty of primo seats still available if anyone nearby wants to head on over there. I assume some promoter paid them to play in Dallas, but why?
