They report Gee's comments today, tomorrow Gee says "No, I didn't really say that. What I actually meant was ..."

I agree with that. Bowlsby and Boren have both talked out of both sides of their mouths, on occasion.

I have always thought they ALL would have been better off to just STFU, and do this completely off the radar.

I think the reason was that Boren didn't think the other presidents would do anything until he put public pressure on them in the summer of 2015, and after that, the whole thing became public, to some extent.

Bowlsby hasn't really said anything except in response to Boren's rants. The ISU president is the only other president who has really said anything. Gee really didn't say much. The UT and TT presidents backed their governor on the UH bit, but have made no other comments.

I don't disagree with any of that. I was referring to the fact that when Boren or Bowlsby speak, especially of late, they are wishy washy, b/c they choose not to give any hints either way.

There you go.

We will have to wait beyond one more exciting weekend of football to get a decision.

and the announcment will be the following:

"we would thank all schools who did thorough and impressive presentations. they did a wonderful job highlighting all their strengths, but at this time, our conference as a whole made the decision to not expand. we will always be evaluating the evolving nature of the college football landscape. we feel that we will be stronger than ever going forward, and we will be able to make well informed and quick decisions for additions down the road due to this thorough and successful vetting process that is now concluded."

all the finalists spent time and money being used as pawns. next announcement will be their media deal increasing.

You are mistaken if you think expanding or not expanding is going to prevent them from sinking. The Titanic will flounder regardless.

So they'd decide to leave money on the table and not expand. I thought we are always supposed to follow the money. Why is it worth it to turn down money?

Maybe so, but pumping water on board won't give them any extra time.

I prefer to think of the B12 as the Ottoman Empire.

Why don't we at least let them make an announcement before sinking them in 2025, lol?

One thing I think, if they are going to kill expansion or kick the can down the road, they could do that right now, without a board meeting Monday, or a formal presser afterward.

I know Memphis did not make a presentation. I'll leave you to your own opinion on the other part.

The first part is a pretty good indicator that you are wrong and Memphis is indeed out.

I believe this meeting has been scheduled for months and isn't just about expansion. Correct?

Who were the other P4? My WWI memory banks are hazy. Or are we going back to the Suileman days?

It is a regularly scheduled meeting. But every regularly scheduled meeting this year has been almost exclusively about expansion. February, May/June, July 19, and now Oct. 17.

Not at all. The Charleston article didn't appear on the Google News search I did before making this thread. And anything that has come out after I made the post wouldn't be applicable.

Nice try.

The only "fail" that could be considered, is the fact that you have over 20k posts and yet I've never seen you add anything to a thread on CR&CS or in the spin room. Not a link, not an argument. Just quips.

I guess you reserve that for the Memphis board.
